The International Motorcycle, Scooter and E-bike Fair (INTERMOT) was held on October 5-9 in Cologne. INTERMOT, held every two years, is an international professional motorcycle fair lasting for years, which also brings a good opportunity for Chinese motorcycle, scooter, bike and the auxiliary product enterprises to develop and consolidate the European market. This year, there were over 130 Chinese enterprises attending the Fair. MEGA CHINAMOTOR of course did not miss this grand occasion and visited our Chinese brands during the exhibition days.


As a famous old brand, Qingqi occupies a unique position among the Chinese motorcycle brands. Qingqi attaches great importance to its export products and is also a frequent visitor of INTERMOT. At INTERMOT 2016 we saw Qingqi’s new retro QQ Cafe 250. CHINAMOTOR had given a test ride of this motorcycle in early September and it was much favored by our foreign riders. QQ Cafe 250 really caught eyes at the Fair. Double cradle frame, upside fork and dual rear shock absorbers according to a well-proven style for cafe racer, spoked wheels with "gold" alloy rim give an extra touch of vintage to the motorcycle. The engine is a revival and refining of the famous GS 250. Important news from a technical point of view is represented by the fuel injection system and by the ABS and the motorcycle then enters rightfully in the "area" EURO 4.

As the only Chinese scooter enterprise that has gained US CARB certification and a large modern motorcycle manufacturer, ZNEN attended INTERMOT 2016 with multiple export models. ZNEN’s scooters, looking always white, fresh and smart attracted many passers-by. Being small, they can reach a top speed of 90km/h, with disc brakes and low fuel consumption of only 2.9L/100km.


BENZHOU group may be new to CHINAMOTOR readers, while it is a state-level II enterprise with strong survivability. BENZHOU group is located at Huangyan Xinqian industrial park at the beautiful coast of the East China Sea, which is also known as the the home of “tangerine” and “mold” in China. After several years of unremitting efforts, BENZHOU has developed itself to be a specialized enterprise with an annual output of 200,000 motorcycles, 300,000 engines and 150,000 electric bikes. Taking this opportunity of INTERMOT, BENZHOU brought to the show several cool scooters.


Sino-foreign joint venture, Guangdong Tayo Motorcycle Technology Co., Ltd was founded in 2003. Tayo is a national level high-tech company which is the first company to get the custom AEO high level certificate. Zontes is one of the brands of Tayo, targeting large and middle displacement motorcycles and mini-cars. At INTERMOT 2016, Tayo brought various styles of shiny large motorcycle models for the European visitors.


BENDA MOTOR GROUP is a leading motorcycle manufacturer dedicating to produce the clients with personalized, sporty, scientific-oriented high quality motorcycles.  In 2008, the company recombines the European PMG company and established its European marketing center focusing on “BENDA” brand. At this INTERMOT, one cool black bike was really eye-catching. The streamlined body with a bright headlight gives it a cool look. What’s important is that it uses EFI system which is right up to EURO 4 standard. Besides, we saw at the scene that BD Fun400 Classic carries a 399cc double cylinder water-cooled engine which can reach a top speed of 140km/h. According to BENDA, it is also fuel-efficient and claims a fuel consumption of 2.8L per hundred kilometers.


Zhejiang jinlang power co., Ltd. is located in Taizhou city, Zhejiang province and is a high-tech enterprise specializing in developing and producing scooter engine and all-terrain vehicles engines. Jinlang engine has a exclusive patented secondary filtration system to ensure better reliability and durability. For this October occasion, Jinlang came with its “ariic “ complete scooter brand. One red pedal motorcycle carrying Jinlang engine stood out among the scooters at Jinlang’ booth.

Besides the large-displacement motorcycles and pedal scooters, many Chinese enterprises also brought their new electric vehicles to the event.


Shenzhen Shenling Vehicle Co., Ltd is a national high-new technology enterprise that integrates developing, producing and selling of new energy vehicles. The company focuses on R&D and promoting low-carbon, environment-friendly and green transport and brings out the electric vehicle brand “TAILG”. TAILG e-motorcycle looks bold and sharp with the striking headlight made of polymer Polyethylene carbon material.


At E-max’ booth, we saw a brand new electric scooter that is equipped with two pieces of battery,  each of which is claimed to endure a distance of 100km (i.e. the scooter can travel 200km with two batteries). The scooter has a newly designed headlight. The battery level, mileage, gear position and speed can be clearly seen on the meter panel. It can also be connected to a locating app and all data can be uploaded to the cloud. Besides, it is designed with an aluminum monocoque frame and carries a BOSCH motor. The power is optional with 800W and 1200W. This scooter is an independently developed product of E-max.


Jiaxing Hongfa Motor Vehicle Fittings Co., Ltd specializes in developing and manufacturing various E-bikes. At INTERMOT 2016, Hongfa had its e-bikes participate in the exhibition. With more than 20 years of experience and strong R&D ability in this field, Hongfa launched several new models to meet different customers’ needs.


UGBEST, being part of the ZHONGNENG Industry group, is a world-class manufacturer and distributor of E-Scooter. UGBEST’s development and manufacturing strategy is to create the best, most Eco-friendly vehicles. A typical representative of UGBEST at INTERMOT is its E-boy. The one we saw is red and it is also optional with white, black and blue. E-boy adopts 60V/28Ah lithium battery and has a max speed of 45km/h. The scooter uses disc brake and can endure a distance of 60-70km. E-boy has got its EEC approval.


Changzhou Fujiang Vehicle Co., Ltd focuses on developing lithium electric bicycles. Fujiang brought one urban use model to INTERMOT. The e-bike looks quite modern and unique. It adopts 250W Bafang motor, Lishui sensor and rear motor. This e-bike presents a leisure style and targets the European and American office workers.

As a large international and comprehensive motorcycle, scooter and bike gathering, there is of course no less parts manufacturers involved. We could also see many Chinese parts enterprises attending the Exhibition.


W-STANDARD is a professional new energy technology company that produces high-end motorcycle lithium battery. W-STANDARD started R&D of Fe battery since 2010. Taking the chance of INTERMOT 2016, the company launched a full series of motorcycle Fe battery, including 7Ah, 9Ah, 12Ah, 14Ah, 18AH, 21Ah, 27AH, and 36Ah.


Shenzhen Reanson Products Co., Ltd is a professional manufacturer of quality sunglasses and goggles. Reanson products feature bright colors. It is designed to be dust-proof. Most important is that it can avoid the user of feeling of faintness under strong flashes. Reanson goggles attracted many visitors from America, Europe, Japan and Korea.


Ningbo Jalyn Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. involves in the import and export business of parts of motorcycles, ATV, and bikes. Jalyn is the supplier for CCCM (China Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycle) professional foreign trade company.


Taizhou Yinchuan Import & Export Co., Ltd. Produces high-quality plastic parts and hardware for motorcycles. With a developing history of over ten years, Yinchuan has become a major production base of modification part for Japanese bike models. Its products are well sold in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Spain and Middle East area.


Beijing Shenzhou Rodia Industry & Trade Co., Ltd. is the first helmet manufacture in China. BSR specializes in producing Formula 1 auto racing helmets, Rally racing helmets, Kart racing helmets, astronaut major equipments, pilot helmets, on-road and off-road motorcycle helmets. BSR brought its new helmets to INTERMOT. The helmets are mainly exported to European and North American countries.

Maggie Jin

QINGDAO MAGGIE JIN INDUSTRY CO. LTD. mainly engages in producing bicycle spare parts, motorcycle spare parts, and ceramic and tires. This time the brand also participated in INTERMOT 2016 with its new products.

To conclude

Though not at its top most exuberant era, INTERMOT is undoubtedly one of the most popular and highly expected motorcycle exhibitions in the world. There were over 130 Chinese enterprises attending this year’s exhibition, among which there were over 10 complete vehicle enterprises, 10 electric vehicle enterprises, and over 100 parts enterprises. A big reason why so many Chinese exhibitors participating in this gathering is that INTERMOT is a really professional big exhibition that has become a best platform for Chinese products to go out into overseas markets.
