On November 28, 2025, the highly anticipated “Green Mobility & Smart Transportation” Thematic Forum of the 2025 China Two-Wheel Mobility Industry Conference successfully concluded at the Jiulong Lake Resort in Huadu District, Guangzhou. Centered on the core theme of “Born for Quality, Opening a New Chapter Together”, the forum gathered nearly 300 distinguished guests, including government officials, representatives of international organizations, industry leaders, and renowned experts and scholars. In-depth discussions were conducted on key topics such as industrial upgrading, technological innovation, overseas expansion, and cultural empowerment, injecting strong intellectual momentum into the high-quality development of the global two-wheel mobility industry.

The conference featured a prestigious lineup of leaders and guests, including Liu Lihua, Member of the National Manufacturing Power Construction Strategy Advisory Committee and Vice Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Zhang Chonghe, former Deputy Director of the Central Office for Institutional Reform, and current Party Committee Secretary and President of the China Light Industry Council; Gao Yuyue, Deputy Secretary-General and First-Level Inspector of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government; Cai Qiliang, Deputy District Chief of the Huadu District People’s Government; and Liu Suwen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Supervisor of the China Light Industry Council, and President of the China Bicycle Association. The forum also welcomed representatives from international industry organizations and global peers in the two-wheel mobility sector, along with leaders of industry associations and chambers of commerce from major provinces and cities nationwide, including Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, and Taizhou. Heads of leading enterprises and upstream and downstream supply-chain companies were also present. Journalists from authoritative national media such as People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television, Economic Daily, China Daily, and China Industry News, together with industry media, gathered to witness this grand industry event.

At the opening ceremony, Zhang Chonghe pointed out in his keynote address that China’s light industry is currently at a critical stage of quality enhancement, efficiency improvement, and transformation and upgrading. He emphasized that bicycle industry enterprises should align with national strategies, grasp the direction of the times, and follow development trends—taking quality as the foundation, innovation as the engine, and coordinated development as the support—to forge a new chapter of high-quality, new-quality productivity development. He proposed four key directions for the industry: first, strengthening quality to meet emerging market demands; second, empowering development through innovation; third, enhancing efficiency through digital and intelligent technologies; and finally , advancing green transformation to build a new development pattern.

On behalf of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, Gao Yuyue, Deputy Secretary-General and First-Level Inspector, welcomed all participants and congratulated the successful convening of the conference. He introduced Guangzhou as one of China’s important origins and clusters for the two-wheel mobility industry, with a solid industrial foundation and leading enterprises. With the conference having been held in Guangzhou consecutively for five years, it has accelerated the local aggregation of innovative elements such as technology and talent, facilitated enterprises in connecting with global markets, and significantly enhanced the influence of the “Made in Guangzhou” brand. During the morning keynote sessions, speakers focused on two core themes—policy interpretation and globalization strategy—sharing cutting-edge insights and practical experiences.

Liu Lihua delivered a keynote speech titled “Seizing Opportunities and Meeting Challenges to Promote High-Quality Development of China’s Industry”. From the perspective of national industrial strategy, he provided an in-depth analysis of the new opportunities and challenges facing the two-wheel mobility industry during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, offering clear guidance for enterprises to leverage policy dividends and achieve high-quality growth.

Subsequently, Pan Hailin, Key Account Development Manager of Amazon Global Selling, and Bing Zhiqiang, Manufacturing Industry Director of Industry Value at Amazon Web Services, jointly presented the topic “Digitally Empowering the Future — New Synergy for Two-Wheel Vehicles Going Global”. From digital infrastructure deployment and localized operations to global ecosystem collaboration and niche market breakthroughs, they provided new perspectives and highly actionable pathways for solving overseas expansion challenges and integrating into the global value chain to achieve “global collaboration and win-win development”.

Yang Yufeng, President of Golden Wheel Group, shared strategic insights under the theme “Breaking Circles and Breaking Through: New Tracks for Two-Wheel Mobility”. Through vivid case studies and in-depth analysis, he demonstrated how scenario innovation can unleash consumer potential and how ecosystem cooperation can break development boundaries. This user-centered, scenario-driven, and ecosystem-supported development model offered valuable solutions for the industry’s value leap. Subsequently, Yang’s business partner Ken Kang introduced the business environment of Puncak Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, and invited industry enterprises to invest and develop there.

Luo Qingyi, Vice President of AIMA Technology Group, focused on “Upholding Integrity and Innovation in Enhancing Quality and Expanding Globally”. He emphasized the central role of product quality and technological innovation, noting that true industry leaders consolidate quality with integrity while driving growth through innovation—perfectly interpreting the profound meaning of “born for quality”.

The afternoon thematic forum, titled “Innovation as the Foundation, Culture as the Empowerment — New Paths for Coordinated Development of the Global Two-Wheel Industry”, was chaired by Wang Mengjun, Chairman and General Manager of Xiamen Hongji Weiye Industrial Co., Ltd. The forum brought together representatives from industry organizations and international enterprises from countries such as the United States and Australia, alongside senior executives from leading Chinese enterprises, building a cross-regional and cross-cultural dialogue platform to explore new opportunities for global industrial collaboration.

Robert J. Margevicius, Senior Advisor of the National Bicycle Dealers Association of the United States, was the first to share insights on “The Current Situation and Future of the U.S. Two-Wheel Industry”, helping participants grasp the pulse and forward-looking trends of the North American market.

Liang Jianxiong, Chairman of Guangzhou LEONIS Machinery Co., Ltd., delivered a speech titled “From Commuting Tool to Sports and Social Carrier”. He not only pointed out product upgrading directions but also articulated the core of industrial transformation from the perspective of lifestyle reconstruction.

Dr. Jonathan Weinert, Vice Chairman of the Light Electric Vehicle Association of the United States, provided a professional analysis of “E-bikes for Sport & Recreation in China: A Distant Mirage or Bright Future”. He shared forward-looking strategic thinking on how to uphold sustainability amid uncertainty.

From the Southern Hemisphere, Joe Mullan, Founder of the Australian Sea Otter Classic and Chairman of the Australian Bicycle History and Culture Committee, shared how to stimulate market demand and spread cycling culture by creating a “cycling lifestyle festival” that integrates professional competitions, brand carnivals, and outdoor experiences.

Dr. Handewei Han, Chairman of the U.S.-based DAHON Group, focused on technological innovation in the folding bicycle sector and delivered a keynote on “Specialization, Innovation, and Industry-Education Integration”, exploring how to build core competitiveness through specialized innovation and continuously cultivate industry innovation through integrated education and industry collaboration.

Building Consensus and Opening a New Industrial Chapter Together

During the roundtable session, Qiu Ruohua, Deputy General Manager of the Guangzhou Branch of Giant (Kunshan) Co., Ltd.; Xue Jiachen, Vice President of Shanghai Phoenix Bicycle Co., Ltd.; Qiao Yi, Promotion Manager of Shimano (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd.; and Chen Bo, Dean of the School of Sports Management, Guangdong Vocational Institute of Sport, engaged in in-depth discussions on the topic “Cycling Culture as a New Engine for Industrial Upgrading”. The guests unanimously agreed that cycling culture has evolved from a single sport into a powerful social force, driving the formation and rise of a vast emerging industrial chain integrating manufacturing, services, cultural tourism, and education—demonstrating enormous economic value and social potential.

At the concluding session, Wang Jianzhong, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Bicycle Association, released the “2026 China Bicycle and Electric Bicycle Trend Report.” The report identified six major development trends for the future of the two-wheel industry: building a new image of electric bicycles with safety as the cornerstone; the cycling ecosystem shifting toward a healthy and better lifestyle;

The youth and children’s markets becoming the main force of consumption upgrading; e-bikes further penetrating diversified market segments; the global deployment of the key parts & accessories industrial chain; defining a distinctive Chinese cycling culture through the integration of green development, technology, and fashion.

The successful hosting of the thematic forum of the 2025 China Two-Wheel Mobility Industry Conference not only established a high-level dialogue platform for the global two-wheel industry but also forged a shared industry consensus of “Seeking Survival through Quality and Pursuing Development through Innovation”. From policy guidance to technological empowerment, from cross-border collaboration to cultural breakthroughs, China’s two-wheel mobility industry is embarking on a new chapter of global green and intelligent mobility with the posture of “Born for Quality”.
