ARIIC 318GT-S Makes Global Debut: Redefining the Mid-Displacement Touring Scooter with “Defensive Performance”

On August 18, ARIIC officially unveiled its new performance flagship maxi-scooter, the 318GT-S. As the flagship model in ARIIC’s maxi-scooter lineup, the 318GT-S has been upgraded in terms of performance, safety and design, targeting the global touring market. The model is priced at RMB 25,980 in China. Its key selling point is ARIIC’s concept of “defensive performance,” developed specifically around the needs of long-distance riding.

At the heart of the 318GT-S is an all-new 369cc single-cylinder engine, producing a maximum output of 25kW at 7,000±250rpm and peak torque of 38.3N·m at 5,500±250rpm. According to ARIIC, the engine is not simply designed around a larger displacement. Instead, it has been tuned specifically for long-distance cruising, with extensive optimization of chassis rigidity, vibration suppression and power delivery to achieve a balance between performance and smoothness.

For the 100-120km/h cruising range commonly used by touring riders, the 369cc engine provides ample power reserve while allowing lower engine speeds, helping reduce vibration and noise. When overtaking on highways or riding alongside heavy vehicles, the additional power reserve can also help riders complete overtaking maneuvers more quickly and move out of potentially dangerous areas. This is what ARIIC refers to as “defensive performance”—the focus is not outright top speed, but responsive power when it matters and the ability to get out of potentially hazardous situations.

To better meet the demands of long-distance touring, the 318GT-S comes equipped with an electrically adjustable windscreen, multi-level heated grips and a twin air-spring rear shock absorber, further enhancing riding comfort. The braking system features a floating disc paired with a four-piston caliper, while ABS and TCS come as standard.

The scooter also features front and rear cameras, with the system able to automatically switch to the corresponding side view when the turn signal is activated. A fifth-generation TFT intelligent instrument and vehicle connectivity system is also included. The seat uses imported Italian upholstery material and is stitched by Spain-based SHAD, with a wide and supportive design aimed at improving long-distance comfort.

Styling continues the touring design language created by Italian designer Alex, combining large curved surfaces with sharp lines to balance sporty character with touring practicality. For the latest launch, ARIIC retains the existing bodywork while adding two new color options, “Black Gold” and “Track Edition,” giving the flagship a refreshed visual identity.

As competition intensifies between single- and twin-cylinder powertrains in the 300-400cc segment, ARIIC has opted for a 369cc single-cylinder engine paired with dual balancer shafts. The setup is designed to deliver strong low-rpm torque, lower maintenance costs and good high-altitude adaptability, while also keeping weight, cost and under-seat storage requirements in check.

From its generous power reserve to its comprehensive touring equipment, the 318GT-S takes a pragmatic approach to performance, comfort and safety, offering a new proposition for the increasingly competitive mid-displacement touring scooter segment.
