Assessing the DAYANG VRS150: Insights from Domestic Media
The DAYANG VRS150 has been on the Chinese market for some time now! The large-scale delivery and distribution in the domestic market began around April this year. As for the pricing, the standard version of DAYANG VRS150 is sold for 12,980 yuan in the Chinese market, the TCS version for 13,980 yuan, while the corresponding hybrid core dynamic version and the core dynamic TCS version are priced 1,000 yuan higher, respectively 13,980 yuan and 14,980 yuan.
Compared to other 150cc scooters on the Chinese market, the DAYANG VRS150 is priced very attractively, and its features are quite impressive, thus garnering a lot of attention from media evaluations and reports. Firstly, in terms of exterior design, the most eye-catching feature of the DAYANG VRS150 is the striking V-shaped quad LED lens headlights on the front, which are highly noticeable. However, according to some motorcyclists around the author, the brightness of the headlights does not perform extraordinarily, and could even be somewhat insufficient in certain conditions. As for other aspects, the DAYANG VRS150 bears a strong resemblance to the DAYANG VRS125 and can be seen as an upgrade from it, so we won’t dwell on this further. It retains a sporty style, and appears quite imposing. In addition, the motorcycle comes with the currently mainstream liquid crystal display instrument, featuring full functionality and excellent clarity. Besides, the flat footrest of this motorcycle extends up to 28 cm, providing ample space and a comfortable driving environment as well as considerable load capacity.
Regarding power, the DAYANG VRS150 is equipped with a single-cylinder, water-cooled, electronically fuel-injected engine with an actual displacement of 149cc. According to the information released by the manufacturer: this engine has a maximum power of 12.1KW and a maximum torque of 14.6Nm, which is quite impressive (Here we can compare with HONDA’s PCX160’s maximum power of 11.8KW, YAMAHA NMAX155’s maximum power of 11.3KW). If the budget allows, one might consider the hybrid core dynamic version or the core dynamic TCS version. The DAYANG VRS150 core dynamic version is equipped with the DAYANG Vi-core 3.0 hybrid platform, which integrates multiple technologies such as hybrid technology, idle stop-start, silent start, and fast charging. This results in stronger performance during quick acceleration, and the third-generation Vi-core hybrid system can provide continuous power output for up to 10 seconds during overtaking. Of course, even without the Vi-core 3.0 hybrid platform, the power of the DAYANG VRS150 is sufficient for daily needs.
As for the standard version of the DAYANG VRS150, priced just over ten thousand yuan, its equipment configuration is also highly attractive. In the braking department, it is equipped with large-size disc brakes at both front and rear, and it comes standard with an ABS anti-lock braking system. For an additional budget of 1,000 yuan, one could opt for the DAYANG VRS150 that also offers the ABS and TCS versions, further enhancing the equipment specifications. Apart from that, this DAYANG VRS150 scooter is fitted with a 10L fuel tank, which is above average in its class, and it is estimated that its mileage can reach about 350km, which is overall a very good performance.
