CFMOTO to Replace Yamaha, with 675SR-R Becoming the Official WorldWCR Motorcycle from 2027

The FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) will undergo a major change to its racing platform in the 2027 season. WorldSBK recently announced that CFMOTO will become the exclusive motorcycle supplier for WorldWCR from 2027, with the partnership running through the 2029 season. The CFMOTO 675SR-R will replace the Yamaha R7 currently used in the championship as the official race motorcycle.

The CFMOTO 675SR-R is powered by a 675cc three-cylinder engine. According to WorldSBK, the new motorcycle will deliver approximately 15 hp more power than the current Yamaha R7. Its three-cylinder engine will also offer a different power delivery from the existing twin-cylinder platform, presenting riders with a new set of challenges on track.

Since its launch in 2024, WorldWCR has adopted a one-make racing format, with all riders competing on motorcycles with the same specifications to place greater emphasis on rider performance. With CFMOTO becoming the championship’s exclusive motorcycle supplier, the 675SR-R will serve as the standard race bike for the next three seasons of this global women’s motorcycle racing championship.

For CFMOTO, the partnership represents a further expansion of its presence in international top-level motorcycle racing. In recent years, CFMOTO has competed in the Moto3 and Moto2 World Championships through the CFMOTO Aspar Team, while continuing to develop high-performance sport motorcycles and racing technologies.

Notably, CFMOTO has also recently showcased its WorldSBK project. In September, FIM President Jorge Viegas visited CFMOTO, during which the company presented its ongoing WorldSBK project. However, as of now, CFMOTO has not announced a specific season, team or race motorcycle for an official entry into the WorldSBK premier class.

Therefore, CFMOTO’s entry into WorldWCR from 2027 represents another important step in its deeper involvement in the international racing series. With the 675SR-R set to take to the WorldWCR grid, CFMOTO’s future racing plans will remain an area of close industry attention.
