The Moto2 race of the 2026 MotoGP Czech Grand Prix concluded recently at the iconic Brno Circuit. Representing the CFMOTO Aspar Team, Colombian rider David Alonso delivered another outstanding performance, remaining a strong contender for victory throughout the race before ultimately finishing second by the narrowest of margins, securing yet another valuable podium for the team.

Alonso demonstrated impressive pace and consistency throughout the entire weekend. During the practice sessions, he repeatedly placed among the frontrunners and went on to claim Moto2 pole position in qualifying, putting himself in an ideal position to challenge for victory in the race.

When the lights went out, Alonso quickly joined the leading pack and steadily worked his way to the front. On the fast and demanding Brno Circuit, the CFMOTO Aspar rider showcased remarkable race management and maturity. For most of the race, he held the lead and firmly controlled the battle for the win.

As the race entered its closing stages, the fight for victory intensified. Alonso maintained a strong and consistent pace, carrying his advantage into the final lap. However, in the last corner, a rival seized an opportunity to make a decisive overtaking move. Despite narrowly missing out on the victory, Alonso crossed the finish line less than one-tenth of a second behind the winner, earning another podium finish in his Moto2 campaign this season.

Meanwhile, in the Moto3 race, CFMOTO Aspar Team rider Máximo Quiles secured third place, adding another podium result for the team and continuing his impressive form throughout the season.

With the Czech Grand Prix now complete, the CFMOTO Aspar Team continues to demonstrate strong competitiveness in both the Moto2 and Moto3 categories. Although Brno did not deliver David Alonso’s first Moto2 victory, his pole position and runner-up finish once again highlighted his rapid development and growing confidence in the class. As the season enters its second half, the CFMOTO Aspar Team remains focused on chasing more podium finishes and race victories.
