CFMOTO 125 AURA Hybrid Retro Scooter Launches in China, Starting at RMB 9,680

On June 23, 2026, CFMOTO officially launched the 125 AURA retro-style scooter, developed in collaboration with Zhuzhou Yamaha. The new model is available in two versions: a standard version priced at RMB 9,680 and a premium version priced at RMB 10,680. Both variants come with a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty. Powered by a joint-venture hybrid system, the 125 AURA is designed for comfortable urban commuting and targets the highly competitive retro scooter segment in the RMB 10,000 price range.

The new scooter continues CFMOTO’s signature retro-inspired design language, featuring an OSRAM LED projector headlight and a halo-style full-width taillight. Buyers can choose from two-glossy colors—Metallic White and Space Silver—as well as two matte finishes—Metallic Blue and Misty Green.

With a curb weight of just 108 kg and a seat height of 765mm, the 125 AURA is particularly friendly to beginners and female riders. It adopts a cradle-type double-beam frame and is equipped with 12-inch CST semi-slick tires at both ends, offering improved road adaptability and riding confidence.

Power comes from a Zhuzhou Yamaha joint-venture 125cc air-cooled, two-valve hybrid engine that shares Yamaha’s global engine platform used in the XINGYING scooter. The engine produces a maximum output of 6.1 kW at 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of 9.8 N·m at 5,000 rpm. The scooter incorporates three hybrid-assist functions. At speeds below 40km/h, the electric assist system can provide up to three seconds of additional power, enhancing acceleration, hill-climbing ability, and two-up riding performance. It also features an intelligent dual-mode start-stop system that automatically adapts to commuting conditions while helping reduce fuel consumption and extend battery life.

Fuel efficiency is claimed to be as low as 1.8 L/100km. A 6.5-liter front-mounted fuel tank delivers a maximum cruising range of approximately 360 km on a full tank. The front-tank layout also preserves under-seat storage capacity, allowing the compartment to accommodate either one full-face helmet or a combination of one three-quarter helmet and one half helmet.

In terms of equipment, both versions come standard with front-wheel ABS. The standard version features a round LCD instrument panel and a conventional mechanical key, meeting the needs of everyday transportation. The premium version upgrades to a 6.2-inch retro-style TFT display with navigation support and action camera connectivity. It also includes a four-in-one smart unlocking system and a second-generation T-BOX connected vehicle platform, adding greater convenience and technology features.

Designed for daily commuting, urban transportation, and short-distance leisure riding, the 125 AURA focuses on practicality and value for money. Its competitive pricing also suggests that CFMOTO and Yamaha may introduce more cost-effective collaborative models in the future.
