CFMOTO Launches 550CL-C in China, Priced at RMB 25,880

CFMOTO has officially launched its new mid-displacement cruiser, the 550CL-C, in the Chinese market, with an official retail price of RMB 25,880. As a key addition to the brand’s cruiser lineup, the 550CL-C receives comprehensive upgrades in styling, overall refinement, and performance, further expanding CFMOTO’s presence in the mid-size cruiser segment.

In terms of powertrain, the 550CL-C is equipped with a 550cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine featuring dual balance shafts. According to official figures, the engine delivers a maximum output of 39 kW and peak torque of 51 N·m, with a compression ratio of 12.5:1. The motorcycle is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. Positioned within the mid-displacement cruiser category, the 550CL-C aims to strike a balance between performance delivery and everyday riding smoothness.

Reportedly, the development process of the 550CL-C involved 180 days of clay modeling and more than 2,000 hours of detailed refinement, along with multiple rounds of proportion optimization. Key components including the headlight, fuel tank, seat, fork covers, and exhaust system were all redesigned, resulting in a more elongated and harmonious overall appearance.

The motorcycle measures 2,212 × 866 × 1,120 mm, with a wheelbase of 1,520 mm. Its substantial proportions give the motorcycle a commanding presence within the mid-size cruiser segment, while the low-slung stance further reinforces the classic cruiser character.
Visually, the 550CL-C continues CFMOTO’s recent premium-oriented cruiser design philosophy while debuting the brand’s new “Flowing Light and Shadow” design language. By combining flowing body surfaces with metallic detailing, the motorcycle creates layered visual effects under changing light conditions. The seamless transition of lines from front to rear contributes to a cruiser silhouette that blends elegance with muscular styling.

Attention to detail is another highlight of the new model. The 550CL-C features a 14-liter teardrop-shaped fuel tank finished with high-precision polishing, nano-pigment paint technology, and an enhanced clear-coat process to elevate the depth and gloss of the paintwork. Embossed metallic side covers on both sides of the tank further enhance the bike’s premium appearance.

The exhaust system adopts a stretched dual-chamber slash-cut design and utilizes high-performance ceramic coating technology from American paint supplier PPG. Officially, the coating is capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 800°C. In addition, the motorcycle comes equipped with a 3.6-inch round TFT color display featuring a retro-inspired analog-style UI, along with Motoplay connectivity, integrating modern smart features into a classic cruiser aesthetic.

In recent years, CFMOTO has continued expanding its cruiser lineup, progressing from the 250CL-C and 450CL-C to the newly launched 550CL-C. The brand’s cruiser portfolio is steadily moving toward higher displacement and a more premium positioning. As demand for personalized cruiser motorcycles continues to grow, the arrival of the 550CL-C is expected to further strengthen CFMOTO’s competitiveness in China’s mid-displacement cruiser market.
