“Export to China” Italy Two-Wheeler Matchmaking Event Successfully Held in Milan

EICMA 2026 Provides a Platform for China-Italy Two-Wheeler Industry Engagement and Business Cooperation
On the afternoon of November 3, the “Export to China” Italy Two-Wheeler Special Buyer-Seller Matchmaking Event was successfully held at Fiera Milano in Milan, Italy. Taking place alongside the 83rd edition of EICMA 2026, the event focused on supply-demand cooperation in the two-wheeler industry between China and Italy, providing a platform for Chinese buyers and Italian exporting companies to connect and explore business opportunities.

The event was jointly organized by the Foreign Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and Assolombarda, hosted by China Light Industry International Holding Corporation, co-organized by the China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, and supported by the Consulate General of China in Milan.

Deng Bo, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce; Geng Xiewei, Commercial Counsellor at the Consulate General of China in Milan; and Giorgi Gianluca, Vice Chairman of the South China Chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, attended the event and delivered opening remarks. More than 100 representatives from government departments, industry associations, businesses and media organizations from China and Italy participated.

A series of group matchmaking sessions formed a key part of the event. Representatives of Chinese purchasing companies met with Italian exporting companies for direct discussions on product sourcing, distribution channel cooperation and service implementation, exchanging views on business requirements and potential areas of collaboration.

The face-to-face format gave participating companies an opportunity to better understand each other’s products, market needs and potential cooperation conditions, while laying the groundwork for further business communication and future partnerships.
The two-wheeler sector represents an area with considerable potential for industrial cooperation between China and Italy. In recent years, China’s two-wheeler market has continued to evolve alongside rising consumer demand, with premium motorcycles and E-bikes among the categories experiencing growing market interest. Chinese companies are also showing increasing interest in quality products and international industry resources.
Italy, meanwhile, has an established industrial foundation in motorcycles, electric two-wheelers, bicycles and related components. Italian companies have developed strengths in product development, brand building, industrial design and quality control, supported by a number of internationally recognized brands and businesses.

With complementary industry resources, product strengths and market demands, China and Italy have a solid foundation for expanding trade and industrial cooperation.
Held alongside EICMA 2026, one of the major international events for the two-wheeler industry, the matchmaking event benefited from the exhibition’s concentration of global industry resources. By combining the international exhibition platform with direct business matchmaking, it created additional opportunities for companies from both countries to engage with potential partners.

From product sourcing and distribution cooperation to exchanges on related services, the event further expanded channels for communication between the Chinese and Italian two-wheeler industries. As business connections between the two markets continue to develop, there remains considerable potential for closer cooperation in trade and industrial resources.
