September is the traditional peak season for motorcycle sales. China’s motorcycle production and sales increased month-on-month, but it decreased significantly year-on-year. The overseas demand reduced slightly, and exports increased slightly month-on-month, with a significant year-on-year decline. Compared with the previous month, the decline is more obvious. On the whole, this industry is faced with the decreasing demand for motorcycles, but it is expected that the industry will gradually improve from the end of the year to the beginning of next year because of the policy of stabilizing foreign trade and promoting consumption.

Production & sales

In September, the production and sales of the whole industry were 2,067,000 units and 2,094,000 units, with a month-on-month increase of 14.19% and 10.11%, and a year-on-year decrease of 14.66% and 14.68% .

From January to September, the production and sales of the whole industry were 16,606,600 units and 16,812,100 units. The production and sales decreased by 14.06% and 13.13% year-on-year.

Export

In September, motorcycle exports recorded 620,800 units, a month-on-month increase of 3.5% and a year-on-year decrease of 20.7%; the export value was USD456 million, up by 6.83% month-on-month and down by 8.76% year-on-year.

From January to September, motorcycle manufacturers exported USD5.297 billion of products, up 0.36% year-on-year. The complete motorcycle export was 5,907,400 units, down 11.83% year-o-year; the export value was USD4.146billion, down 1.38% year-on-year.

From January to September, the top five series of products in export volume were: 125cc series, 150cc series, 110cc series, 250cc series and 50cc series, exporting 2,094,700 million units, 1,458,300 units, 824,900 units, 660,300 units and 258,900 units, respectively.

From January to September, the top ten enterprises in export volume were Loncin, Dachangjiang, Zongshen, Sundiro Honda, Tayo, Lifan, Dechengwei, Dayun, Haojin, and Shaxing, with a total export volumes of 3.7098 million units, accounting for 62.8% of the total motorcycle exports.
