Chinese Electric Bicycles To Be Unitedly Installed With Dashcam In Shanghai
China – According to the data from Shanghai Traffic Police Corps of Public Security Bureau, the number of non-motor vehicles in Shanghai exceeded 10 million a decade ago and remained more than 10 million in recent years, including nearly 8 million electric bikes. And Shanghai’s traffic accidents involving non-motor vehicles accounted for more than 50%.
Of the nearly 8 million electric bikes, about one-tenth of them are used by deliverymen. Though not a high proportion, electric bike-related traffic accidents occur more frequently due to the high utilization rate of these vehicles.
Shanghai NPC member expressed that a dashcam can not only monitor the bike’s real-time status and location through GPS but also realize the remote control, remote monitoring, alarm and other functions. In addition, with the big data such as riding route and location collected by the dashcam, the relevant department can better understand the industrial situation, operation status and labor intensity to timely adjust road plans and traffic rules, improve urban traffic conditions, and truly achieve intelligent management of the city.
