In June, China’s motorcycle production and sales increased both month-on-month and year-on-year, and foreign trade exports also continued to grow. From the overall production and sales situation from January to June, the growth of foreign trade exports played a significant role in driving growth, while the Chinese market gradually stabilized, among which the market for large-displacement leisure and entertainment motorcycles above 250ml continued to maintain high growth.

Production and sales Situation

In June, the industry produced and sold 1.6147 million and 1.6183 million fuel motorcycles, increased 1.77% and 0.53% month-on-month, and increased 8.83% and 8.61% year-on-year; the production and sales of electric motorcycles were 251,800 and 240,300, down 3.69% and 10.06% month-on-month, and down 15.37% and 22.53% year-on-year.

In June, the total production and sales of motorcycles were 1.8666 million and 1.8586 million, with a month-on-month increase of 1% in production and a year-on-year decrease of 0.97% in sales, and year-on-year increase of 4.79% and 3.24%. Among them, the production and sales of two-wheeled vehicles were 1.6673 million and 1.6549 million, with a month-on-month increase of 2.28% in production and a month-on-month decrease of 0.15% in sales, and year-on-year increases of 4.83% and 2.85%. The production and sales of large-displacement leisure and entertainment motorcycles (displacement above 250cc, excluding 250cc) were 100,500 and 101,200, up 4.68% and 1.78% month-on-month, and increased 20.11% and 14.32% year-on-year. The production and sales of three-wheeled motorcycles were 199,300 and 203,700, with a month-on-month decrease of 8.57% and 7.22%, and year-on-year increases of 4.41% and 6.52%.

From January to June, the industry completed the production and sales of fuel motorcycles of 9.0128 million and 9.0401 million, increased 14.14% and 14.67% year-on-year; the production and sales of electric motorcycles were 1.6013 million and 1.5745 million, with a year-on-year increase of 0.39% and a year-on-year decrease of 3.57%. From January to June, a total of 10.6141 million and 10.6146 million motorcycles were produced and sold, with a year-on-year increase of 11.83% and 11.54%. Among them, the production and sales of two-wheeled motorcycles were 9.3789 million and 9.3718 million, with a year-on-year increase of 12.64% and 12.31%; the production and sales of large-displacement leisure and entertainment motorcycles (displacement above 250cc, excluding 250cc) were 510,500 and 502,000, increased 44.74% and 41.21% year-on-year. The production and sales of three-wheeled motorcycles were 1.2352 million and 1.2429 million, up 5.98% and 6.08% year-on-year.

From January to May, the top 10 fuel motorcycle sales companies (groups) were Dachangjiang(1,213,400 units), Loncin(881,600 units), Zongshen(564,800 units), Tayo(502,000 units), Sundiro-Honda(450,100 units), Yinxiang(353,100 units), Haojin(331,600 units), Dayang(317,400 units), Jiangmen Summit(287,100 units), and Wuyang-Honda(272,800 units).

From January to May, the top 10 electric motorcycle sales companies (groups) were Yadea Group(528,800 units), Zongshen(227,800 units), Luyuan(225,200 units), CFMOTO(123,900 units), Jiangsu Sunra(119,300 units), Huaihai(81,000 units), Bus New Energy(69,500 units), Lovol(40,700 units), Loncin(38,200 units), and TAIGL(30,200 units).

Export Situation

In June, 1.1807 million motorcycles were exported, increased 2.49% month-on-month and 19.18% year-on-year. The export value was $812 million, increased 5.31% month-on-month and 28.78% year-on-year. Among them, 1.1176 million two-wheeled motorcycles were exported, increased 2.42% month-on-month and 17.59% year-on-year. 63,100 three-wheeled motorcycles were exported, increased 3.77% month-on-month and 56.85% year-on-year.

From January to June, the total export volume of motorcycle manufacturers was $5.299 billion, an increase of 26.71% year-on-year. The export volume of complete vehicles was 6.6611 million, an increase of 25.44% year-on-year, and the export volume was $4.272 billion, an increase of 29.06% year-on-year. 642,100 motorcycle engines were exported, an increase of 9.41% year-on-year, and the export amount was $129 million, an increase of 1.29% year-on-year. 227,300 ATVs were exported, down 0.22% year-on-year, and the export amount was $661 million, increased 18.46% year-on-year. The export amount of motorcycle parts was $238 million, an increased of 26.95% year-on-year.
