EXPO MOTO 2025: Electric and Fuel Motorcycles Advance in Parallel as Chinese Brands Shine in Mexico City

The 29th Expo Moto was successfully held from November 20 to 23 at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Mexico City. As one of the most influential motorcycle industry exhibitions in Latin America, this year’s event covered approximately 17,000 square meters of exhibition space, attracted 320 exhibitors, and brought together more than 600 global brands and companies. Over 47,000 visitors attended the show, which comprehensively showcased the latest products, technologies, and development trends across the motorcycle and mobility industries.

With accelerated urbanization and continuously growing commuting demand, motorcycles and light mobility solutions are becoming one of the most promising modes of transportation in the Latin American market. Supported by a large consumer base and an increasingly mature market environment, Mexico has emerged as a key strategic market for global motorcycle brands, further strengthening Expo Moto’s role as a major industry trendsetter in the region. While fuel motorcycles continue to dominate the mainstream market, this year’s exhibition placed a significantly stronger emphasis on electrification and, for the first time, established a dedicated electric mobility hall. The new zone featured the latest technologies, motorcycles, and mobility ecosystems covering two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and light electric motorcycles. The parallel display of electric and traditional fuel motorcycle products clearly outlined the transitional “dual-track” market landscape of fuel and electric development in Latin America.

Chinese brands delivered a particularly strong performance at Expo Moto 2025, spanning both the fuel and electric motorcycle segments. Exhibiting Chinese motorcycle brands included CFMOTO, QJMOTOR, KAYO, KOVE, and LIFAN, each presenting multiple models across a wide range of categories such as naked bikes, sport racing, off-roads, and ATVs. Together, these brands demonstrated the comprehensive strength of China’s motorcycle industry in terms of powertrain development, motorcycle design, and manufacturing capabilities, highlighting the accelerating global expansion of Chinese motorcycles.

In the electric mobility segment, YADEA, a leading Chinese electric two-wheeler brand, became one of the focal points of the electric exhibition area. Targeting the Mexican market, YADEA showcased its flagship electric motorcycle Keeness, along with several other models including the GT60 and KEMPER. These products cover a wide range of application scenarios such as urban commuting, long-range daily travel, and high-performance recreational riding, offering Latin American consumers a more diverse selection of electric mobility solutions.

In recent years, driven by stricter environmental regulations, changes in the energy structure, and the upgrading of consumer mobility concepts, the electric two-wheeler market in Mexico and neighboring Latin American countries has experienced rapid growth. Applications of electric motorcycles in urban short-distance commuting and last-mile delivery continue to expand, with market penetration steadily increasing. The establishment of an independent electric mobility zone at this year’s Expo Moto is widely regarded by the industry as a significant signal that light mobility in Latin America is accelerating toward electrification.

Overall, Expo Moto 2025 not only highlighted the sustained vitality of traditional fuel motorcycles, but also clearly demonstrated the rapid rise of electric motorcycles. Within this transformation, Chinese motorcycle and electric motorcycle brands, supported by increasingly comprehensive product portfolios, continuously upgraded technologies, and ever-more mature overseas distribution networks, are steadily expanding their influence in the Latin American market and becoming an important driving force in the upgrading of the region’s two-wheeler mobility industry.
