Recently, at Beijing Jingang Circuit, Fekon unveiled its 250cc FKM 3GP that imitates a racing bike. Sound a stranger to you? While this is the real motorcycle whose concept has been exposed at EICMA a few years ago. The concept first appeared in 2015 Milan show, and it is finally launched in 2020. Fortunately, five years later, this remains to be the first domestic 250cc single rocker racing bike.

At the press conference, Mr. Xu Zhicong, executive deputy general manager of Fekon, introduced the 3GP in detail. Although the first draft of the appearance design was completed in 2015, after these years of constant changes, the 3GP is fashionable with a sharp front modeling, well coordinated body, and hollow-carved tail design tail. The appearance design integrates the mainstream fashion elements.

The 3GP uses a steel tube frame that has gone through electrophoresis process and coated with special BASF paint. The frame is 20% lighter than the original state. The rear is designed with an aluminum alloy single rocker arm that weighs only 6kg, which is beautiful and still reliable.

The front shock is given a non-adjustable inverted shock absorber and the rear is a single-tube preload adjustable shock absorber. The braking system consists of the front opposite four-piston calipers with 300mm floating disc and the rear single-piston calipers, with ABS as standard equipment. The bike is powered by a CFMOTO 250cc engine which basically has the same power parameters as CFMOTO 250SR.

Moreover, Fekon paid much attention to detail design. As a motorcycle that tends to have characteristics of a racing bike, the original aluminum two-section pedal is adjustable and the rear pedal is also made of aluminum alloy. The entire bike weighs only 154kg, and the 785mm seat is friendly to beginners and female riders. However, due to the 17L fuel tank, the bike weighs 166kg with a full tank, which is heavier than the CFMOTO 250SR. This is not so pleasing for track riding, but less refueling will be good for daily riding.

After the press conference, the 3GP was tested at a karting track, and its overall performance exceeded expectations. The handlebars are lower and the sitting position is more aggressive than the 250SR, making it easier to ride on the track. Stability at corners is good, the front braking force is strong, but the front shock is felt a little bit soft. Due to the limited length of the track, there was no intense test ride on the track.

In addition to the mass production version, a track version was exhibited. The front shock absorber can be adjusted, the frame is replaced with carbon fiber materials, and the exhaust has also been changed. It looks more aggressive, and Fekon will provide more modification parts for track riding purpose.

In general, FKM 3GP offers a new option in the 250cc sport models. FKM 3GP is the most optimized product for track riding purpose. The single rocker arm design makes it more stylish. Under the circumstance that similar vehicles use the same power platform, FKM 3GP is a differentiated product among the same type and class of motorcycles. (Source: WeChat: MTC-CHINA)
