The 2026 MotoGP British Grand Prix came to a close at Silverstone, with QJMOTOR–Bioelec–MSi rider Iván Ortolá putting together another strong Moto2 performance to finish runner-up and return to the podium for the second consecutive round.

Ortolá started Sunday’s race from third on the grid and quickly settled into the leading group. From the opening laps, the Spanish rider showed strong pace around Silverstone’s fast, flowing layout and remained firmly in the fight at the sharp end of the field. Throughout the race, he stayed within striking distance of the lead and continued to put pressure on the riders ahead.

After a hard-fought battle over the full race distance, Ortolá crossed the line just 0.303 seconds behind race winner Filip Salač to secure second place. Álex Escrig completed the podium in third, with the trio taking the top three spots at Silverstone.

The runner-up finish adds further weight to Ortolá’s recent run of form. Just one round earlier, at the German Grand Prix, he claimed a major Moto2 victory—the latest milestone in his rapidly developing career. Back on the podium at Silverstone, Ortolá has now finished inside the top two at two consecutive Grands Prix, underlining the consistency of his race pace and his ability to fight at the front of the Moto2 field.

His competitiveness was evident throughout the British Grand Prix weekend, not just on race day. Ortolá qualified third in Moto2 to secure a front-row starting position, with Izan Guevara taking pole and Alonso López qualifying second. Starting from the front row gave the QJMOTOR rider the track position he needed to stay involved in the podium fight from the very beginning.

As the 2026 season moves deeper into its second half, Ortolá is establishing himself as a regular presence at the sharp end of the Moto2 grid. Two consecutive podium finishes have strengthened his championship campaign while also putting the QJMOTOR–Bioelec–MSi effort increasingly in the spotlight.

For QJMOTOR, Moto2 is about more than simply putting a motorcycle on the grid. The championship provides a demanding proving ground where manufacturers, riders and teams compete at one of the highest levels of motorcycle racing. Racing alongside the world’s leading riders and teams gives QJMOTOR an opportunity to develop its racing experience, sharpen its technical capabilities and build its presence on the international stage.

Ortolá’s recent results are another sign of the growing ambition behind QJMOTOR’s global racing program. As Chinese motorcycle manufacturers continue to expand beyond their home market, appearances—and results—on the world’s biggest racing stages are helping reshape the perception of Chinese motorcycle brands. For QJMOTOR, the goal is no longer simply to compete overseas, but to earn its place among the names that matter in the global motorcycle industry.
