QJMOTOR’s 3-Cylinder ADV: RINO 900 / SRT 900 X3

Three-Cylinder Power and Advanced Electronics Explore New Possibilities in Large-Displacement ADV Riding
Three-cylinder engines remain relatively uncommon in the large-displacement ADV segment. Combining that engine configuration with advanced electronics and serious off-road capability gives the RINO 900 a distinctive position in the increasingly competitive adventure market.

Developed by leading Chinese motorcycle manufacturer QJMOTOR, the RINO 900/SRT 900 X3 (hereafter referred to as the RINO 900) is the company’s first self-developed three-cylinder ADV model. When it made its debut at EICMA 2025, the motorcycle quickly attracted widespread attention from the international motorcycle industry and consumers. The RINO 900 has now entered mass production and received E5+ homologation. At its heart is a 900cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine, complemented by a ride-by-wire throttle, fully adjustable Marzocchi suspension, Brembo braking hardware, a six-axis IMU, and 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. The RINO 900 is positioned as a large-displacement ADV designed to combine long-distance touring, road riding and the ability to venture beyond paved roads.
900cc Three-Cylinder Power: Balancing Performance and Long-Distance Touring
The RINO 900 is powered by a 900cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine producing a claimed 88.0kW at 10,000rpm and 93.0N·m at 8,000 rpm. Power is delivered through a six-speed transmission and chain final drive.

The three-cylinder engine is one of the RINO 900’s defining characteristics. Beyond its smooth power delivery, its distinctive throttle response and exhaust note, giving the motorcycle a more pronounced mechanical character. Strong mid- and high-rpm performance provides the punch needed for two-up riding with a full load and overtaking on winding mountain roads, while retaining the distinctive high-revving character and sound associated with a three-cylinder engine.
Rhino-Inspired Design: A Distinctive, Mechanical Look
The RINO 900 was styled by Italian design studio C-Creative, with Adrian Morton, former chief designer at MV Agusta, involved in the original design. Taking the rhinoceros as its inspiration, the design blends biomimetic elements with a distinctly mechanical aesthetic.

The signature split LED daytime running lights create a visual impression reminiscent of a rhino’s horn, while sharply sculpted bodywork, biomimetic air intakes and an armor-like fuel-tank guard give the motorcycle a rugged, distinctly mechanical character. A 20-liter fuel tank, 815/830mm seat height, 185mm ground clearance, and an optimized rider triangle are designed to balance long-distance touring comfort with the ergonomics needed for standing riding on rough terrain.
High-Performance Chassis and Electronics: Built for Pavement and Beyond
For its chassis, the RINO 900 features Marzocchi inverted front forks and a centrally mounted rear shock, with adjustment for preload, compression and rebound damping. An aluminum swingarm, reinforced frame, engine skid plate and crash bars provide a solid foundation for riding beyond paved roads.

The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless wire-spoke wheels are designed to strike a balance between on-road performance and off-road capability, while accommodating different tire options for a range of riding environments. Braking hardware includes a Brembo radial-mount four-piston front caliper paired with dual floating brake discs.

On the electronics side, a six-axis IMU, cornering ABS and TCS provide additional active safety when conditions become more challenging. The ride-by-wire throttle works in conjunction with the riding modes to deliver a more precise throttle response across different riding conditions.
A 7-inch TFT display supports smartphone mirroring and navigation projection, while touring-oriented equipment includes an electrically adjustable windscreen, heated grips and a heated seat.
Three-Cylinder Power Meets Smart Features: RINO 900’s Distinctive Approach
From its 900cc three-cylinder engine to its Marzocchi suspension, Brembo braking system, six-axis IMU and ride-by-wire throttle, the RINO 900 is not simply about engine displacement. Instead, it brings together its powertrain, chassis and electronic rider aids to offer a distinctive approach within the large-displacement ADV segment.

For ADV riders seeking the character of a three-cylinder engine combined with long-distance touring capability and the ability to venture beyond paved roads, the RINO 900 represents QJMOTOR’s distinctive approach to the large-displacement adventure market.
