Following another dazzling appearance at this year’s CIMA Motor, the Stormbreaker 1200 by SHINERAY finally made its official debut in the Chinese market on September 26. The motorcycle’s pricing has been announced with the standard edition pegged at RMB 46,800 and the premium edition at RMB 51,800. The premium edition is now available for purchase, accompanied by a series of blind-booking promotional strategies, while the standard edition is set to launch in the first quarter of 2024.

The unveiling of the SHINERAY Stormbreaker 1200 took a unique twist, as it was hosted within a vintage clothing store. This setting of a vintage costume party impeccably illustrated the classical cruising characteristics of the Stormbreaker 1200.

Marking SHINERAY’s first venture into the liter-class cruiser motorcycles, the Stormbreaker 1200 is powered by a 1200cc V-type engine. The motorcycle can reach speeds up to 80 km/h in first gear and delivers 80 N.m of torque at 3,000 rpm, boasting a top speed of 165 km/h. Its features include a keyless ignition system, an intelligent TFT speedometer interactive system, class-D illuminative LED headlights, an integrated brake and turn signal system, and an adaptable solo or dual seat design to cater to a range of user requirements.

Aesthetically, the Stormbreaker 1200 flawlessly replicates the classic American cruiser look, with overall dimensions measuring 2180x830x1100mm, a wheelbase of 1500mm, a seat height of 710mm, and a minimum ground clearance of 110mm. Its design exudes a robust and steady demeanor with smooth lines and a resonant tone. Moreover, the Stormbreaker 1200’s external design details harmoniously incorporate classic Chinese elements—a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a cerulean blue inspired by the official kilns of the Song Dynasty, both acting as a homage to China’s rich classical culture.

With the ongoing rise in motorcycle enthusiasm within China, the demand for high-displacement recreational motorcycles has gradually increased. Thanks to advancements driven by consumer upgrades and technological innovations, Chinese motorcycle brands have started to shine in the realm of large-displacement bikes. As a domestic pioneer in the vintage motorcycle sector, SHINERAY’s Mash series has already solidified its status as a classic. The brand had recently showcased several exquisitely modified models to global audiences. Now, with the introduction of the Stormbreaker 1200, domestic vintage cruising bikes are being propelled into a new dimension.
