SYM Sports Scooter CROX RX Test Ride Review
The brand new SYM CROX RX is equipped with the SYM T.S.P single cylinder air-cooled engine with an actual displacement of 149.6cc, a maximum power of 8.3kW at 8,000 RPM and a maximum torque output of 11.5N·m at 6,000 RPM. Based on its own displacement advantage, CROX RX is commonly used in the 0-80km/h speed range in cities and the dynamic response is timely. Due to the limit of test conditions, the top speed and the 0-100km/h acceleration time were not tested, but the actual GPS speed was 95km/h when the table showed 103km/h. Compared with the water-cooled power platform of the same level on the market at present, CROX RX mainly lacks part of the extensibility of high rotation, but this does not affect the daily commuting feelings.
Overall,the vibration suppression of this air-cooled engine is good. Before 6,000 RPM, the handlebar resonance is not obvious. There is a slight resonance interval from 6,000 RPM to 8,000 RPM, but it is also within the acceptable range, the vibration of the cushion is a little stronger.
In terms of actual riding experience, the control level of CROX RX is between FNX and DRG, the CROX RX’s wide naked handlebars, sporty damping adjustment and the new CST 12-inch front and rear tires give it excellent control flexibility at low and medium speeds. Whether it turns around with a small radius or lowers the body to enter the corner, it can also provide good support in the corner.
Because the overall shock absorption adjustment is biased towards sports orientation and focuses more on urban cycling, the bounce of the rear shock absorption is more obvious when passing through some large potholes.
Another key configuration on the CROX RX is the ALEH in SYM’s proud “three-zero system”, which is to design the center of gravity of the engine, frame and tires on the same horizontal line so that the vehicle is more stable at the start and effectively improves riding comfort.
CROX RX is equipped with CBS brakes and aluminum alloy wheels with front 110/70/R12 and rear 120/70/R12 CY tires which have good road holding. The front brake is equipped with a one-way dual piston CBS, and the rear wheel is also equipped with a disc brake, with the rear disc located in the middle of the inner hub to reduce rear wheel offset when using rear brakes.
The biggest change of the new CROX RX is its appearance, which is more modern and has more design and texture. Meanwhile, the headlights and taillights also use LED light source which have a better night lighting effect.
LED instrument has a good backlighting effect. In the process of marching, the tachometer constantly climbing display can also give people a more athletic experience.
The new CROX RX adopts a front fuel tank, which makes refuel more convenient. The fuel tank has a capacity of 6.2L, which makes daily travel completely unworrying.
The height of the new generation CROX RX is 765mm and the curb weight is 123kg. The design of the rear pedal is rather cramped, and the space movement of the rear foot is not flexible when riding for a long time.
Because it has been changed to the front fuel tank, the seat bucket has more space than the previous generation. In addition to accommodating a typical 3/4 hull, there’s plenty of extra space for a few carry-on items, it is also equipped with a 5V2A USB charging port. (Source: www.i-motor.com.cn)
