The New Scooter VD125 Comes from Haojue’s ESS Platform
China – Based on its ESS125 platform, Haojue has developed a wide variety of scooters, including sporty AFR, UCR, USR, personalized Eagle, M-boy, M-Girl, and cost-effective VH125, etc. A new ESS125 product appeared in the MIIT catalogue recently. This time Haojue focuses on the huge express delivery market, targeting the deliverymen. With the code name “HJ125T-55”, it is affixed with the letter “VD”. We temporarily call it “VD125”.
The appearance is unflashy, like a combination of VF and VH. The highlight of the new product is an oversized rear shelf, which looks like it has a retractable slide track.
The power part is the familiar ESS platform. The single cylinder air-cooled engine with the actual displacement of 124cc is characterized by fuel saving, sensitivity and quietness. The maximum power is 6.6kW, the maximum torque is 10N.m, the fuel tank is about 6.5L, the fuel consumption is about 2.5L/100km, and the cruising range reaches about 250km.
The past models have proven the maturity and stability of the platform. It is available with electric start and electric/foot double start mode. In addition to the large shelf version, the “VD125” comes with an ordinary tail box version to be used by commuting users. Other known parameters and equipment include the 12-inch front wheel, 120kg curb weight, front disc and rear drum brakes, and mechanical meter.
At present, the express delivery and takeout industries mainly choose models with high brand awareness, reputation and high ownership in the market. Haojue happens to be one of such brands.
With the reputation created by AFR, USR and UCR, it will be very attractive if the same platform VD125 could offer an affordable price. Currently, the cheapest model of the ESS platform is VH125, priced at around 8,000 yuan, so can the “VD125” be lower than 8,000 yuan?
