TROMOX UKKO S With Fast Charging Technology Debuted At CIMAMotor 2021
The 19th China International Motorcycles Trade Exhibition (CIMAMotor) was held as scheduled in Chongqing. As one of the largest motorcycle exhibitions in China, CIMAMotor 2021 also attracted many big brands that unveiled new models on the first day, such as the Harley Sportster, VOGE 350cc scooter, and Piaggio Zongshen GPR250 street version. In addition to the new products of traditional fuel motorcycle brands, the emerging electric motorcycle brands also brought many amazing new products, including Tromox whose electric motorcycles have attracted much attention.
Last year, Tromox launched the mini electric motorcycle MINO on the market, which sparked extensive discussions in the industry, mainly about the compact size. Some riders find it small, agile, cute, and pleasant to ride, while some feel that the mini motorcycle is not suitable for daily mobility. Certainly, different riders hold different opinions about its practicability because they use it for varied purposes. Tromox heard the voice of riders, so the company launched a larger electric model: the UKKO S.
UKKO S is a rare or even the first high-speed electric motorcycle in China. It is still equipped with a mid-drive motor, and powered by an automotive-grade 72V/55Ah blade lithium battery pack, which can reach a maximum speed of 100 kph, and claims to deliver a cruising range of 180km if not ridden at high speeds. One of the advantages of the mid-mounted motor lies in the gradeability and acceleration. UKKO S only needs 4.2s to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h and can easily climb a 22° slope.
The highlight of the Tromox UKKO S is the fast-charging technology, which enables the battery to be charged to 80% in only 45 minutes. This is really an attractive performance for those who love long-distance motorcycle traveling–the motorcycle can be almost fully charged at the lunch time on the way.
The Tromox UKKO S also features lightweight, which is reflected in the all-aluminum frame, the racing-grade single rocker arm, and the hollow details on the body.
Model | Net weight |
Tromox UKKO S | 110kg |
Dayang E5 | 130kg |
Supersoco TC-MAX | 150kg |
Surron Storm Bee | 129kg |
The 760mm seat height of the UKKO S is friendly to most riders, which is basically suitable for riders higher than 160cm. It adopts tubeless tires with the front and rear sizes of 100/80-13 and 120/70-13 respectively. The CBS or ABS brake system ensures riding safety.
In addition to the eye-catching appearance, the UKKO S boasts sophisticated manufacturing process: robot argon arc welding process brings excellent welding lines. It is worth mentioning that the UKKO S is provided with Continental drive belts as a standard equipment. For users who cannot bear the sound of chain drive, the belt drive is an optimal choice.
At this year’s exhibition, Tromox invited the industry celebrity Mr. Zhao Hongyi to be the presenter of its launch event, who also analyzed the current industry trends.
At present, many auto manufacturers have begun to develop new energy motorcycles with a view to taking a share in the market. Many traditional fuel motorcycle brands have also begun to invest in electric motorcycles. Similar to the rise and fast growth of new energy cars, new energy motorcycles will also have a bright future. Many countries have introduced supporting policies to encourage the conversion of fuel motorcycles to electric products. As a leading brand in the electric motorcycle industry, Tromox has felt the enthusiasm of overseas markets for electric products since last year when the MINO was exported. Tromox gained fame at the EICMA. MINO was a shock and welcomed by the young generation, because it no longer has a traditional cumbersome body, but brings a new dynamic, flexible and pleasant riding experience. Will the UKKO S set off a wave of new energy motorcycles in the domestic and overseas markets?
After the launch at the CIMAMotor, the new product will be pre-sold online, and the only purchase channel is the official Mini program. Tromox promised to deliver the products before July 1 next year. While waiting for the new motorcycle, riders can log in the Mini program everyday to gain credits, which can be used to exchange for some peripheral products.
For more information about the UKKO S, overseas riders can visit Tromox’s facebook account: TROMOX, and domestic riders can visit its official WeChat account.
I am an old-fashioned biker and, to tell the truth, I hope to ride a traditional fuel motorcycle yet for long years but at the same time I am really aware of the necessity to preserve the environment from air pollution. For such a reason I deeply appreciate and welcome the efforts by the Tromox engineers to develope a new generation of eco-friendly motorcycles; very probably our sons and nephews will ride them and combustion engines will be put aside.
About UKKO S, its design looks very nice and performances are really good. In my opinion, UKKO S just needs to develope a larger autonomy, and it would be perfect.
