VOGE Launches SR450X in China, Powered by a 398cc Parallel-Twin Engine

On June 27, VOGE officially launched the all-new SR450X maxi-scooter in the Chinese market with an official retail price of RMB 34,980. Positioned as a premium mid-displacement scooter, the SR450X is designed to meet the needs of urban commuting, long-distance touring, and light off-road riding. The new model is powered by a 398cc parallel-twin engine and comes equipped with an extensive range of intelligent technologies and premium components.

One of the SR450X’s key highlights is its powertrain. It is powered by the KSL400 398cc liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin engine with eight valves and an 11:1 compression ratio, delivering a maximum output of 31kW at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 42 N·m at 5,750 rpm. Compared with the single-cylinder engines commonly found in today’s mid-displacement scooter segment, the twin-cylinder platform offers smoother power delivery, stronger high-speed cruising performance, and improved overall refinement. The engine also features an integrated balance shaft and an offset crankshaft design to further reduce vibration.

According to VOGE, the SR450X was developed based on research involving more than 2,000 riders. The model has been optimized for three primary riding scenarios typical of the Chinese market: 60% urban commuting, 30% road touring, and 10% light off-road riding, with an emphasis on enhancing agility, comfort, and overall versatility.

For handling, the SR450X is equipped with the FRS synchronized front and rear suspension system. According to the manufacturer, the system delivers a response delay of less than 0.01 seconds and a lean response time of just 0.05 seconds, helping improve maneuverability in urban traffic, For long-distance touring, the scooter adopts the CHS adaptive suspension system, along with an 18-liter fuel tank, 2 45-liter under-seat storage compartment capable of accommodating two full-face helmets, and an ergonomic seat with independent heating for both rider and passenger to enhance comfort and practicality.

To improve capability on light off-road terrain, the SR450X features an asymmetric frame support structure with upper and lower triple clamps. It is equipped with fully adjustable KYB inverted front forks and KYB rear air shocks with preload and compression damping adjustment. Additional features include 180 mm of ground clearance, Maxxis dual-purpose tires, tubeless spoked wheels, and a centurally positioned footrest that enables standing riding, further enhancing performance on challenging road conditions.

In terms of equipment, the SR450X comes fitted with a Bosch electronic fuel injection system, Xihu radial four-piston front brake calipers, a Nissin floating rear brake caliper, and KYB suspension components. It also offers a comprehensive suite of premium features, including blind-spot radar monitoring, the third-generation T-BOX connectivity system, an electrically adjustable memory windscreen, heated grips, heated rider and passenger seats, hand guards, and a parking brake.

The new model is available in two color options: Starry Night Black and Flowing Cloud White.

As competition in China’s mid-displacement scooter segment continues to intensify, riders are placing greater emphasis on power, comfort, advanced equipment, and versatility across multiple riding scenarios. With the introduction of the SR450X, VOGE further expands its scooter lineup while offering a new twin-cylinder alternative for riders seeking an all-around riding experience in this increasingly competitive segment.
