Zongshen-Aprilia’s New 250cc Parallel-Twin Engine Exposed

China – Aprilia has decided to relook at the 250cc sports bike segment. Rumours are suggesting that the brand is working on a new 250cc parallel-twin engine that is likely to be seen on a sports bike first.
According to a report, a patent picture of this engine was leaked and that has fuelled the rumour. This new engine is claimed to be developed by Aprilia’s Chinese partner – Zongshen. Notably, this same Chinese company has also developed Aprilia RS125 and the GPR250R for their home market.
With the help of this new engine, the Italian maker will be able to take on brands like the Yamaha R25, Kawasaki Ninja 250, and the Honda CBR250RR. We can expect some more development to be leaked in the coming few weeks. Meanwhile, there’s a high chance of some official reveal or tease by the brand at the 2022 EICMA Show, Italy.
