China’s Fuel Motorcycle In April: Production and Sales increasing Month-on-month and Year-on-year
In April, China’s motorcycle production and sales increased month-on-month and year-on-year, with substantial additive exports, domestic sales were basically the same as the previous month, and the year-on-year decline narrowed.From January to April, driven by exports, the sales of fuel motorcycles still kept increasing, which was not only improved quickly in the Chinese market with narrowing the declining rate but also increased in the foreign market. Motorcycle industry continued to be stable and improving.
Production & Sales
In April, fuel motorcycle production and sales were 1,464,300 and 1,439,800 units respectively, a month-on-month increase of 5.57% and 7.6%, and a year-on-year increase of 13.84% and 11.08%. The production and sales of electric motorcycles were 298,300 and 314,300 units respectively, a month-on-month decrease of 12.48% and 6.13%, and a year-on-year decrease of 31.54% and 9.42%. The entire industry produced and sold a total of 1,762,600 and 1,754,100 motorcycles respectively in April, a month-on-month increase of 2.01% and 4.85%, and a year-on-year increase of 2.36% and 6.75%. The production and sales of two-wheeled motorcycles were 1,536,700 and 1,529,700 respectively in April, a month-on-month decrease of 3.5% and 7.02%, and a year-on-year increase of 1.99% and 7.19%. The production and sales of large-displacement recreational motorcycles (displacement >250CC) produced and sold 71,400 and 72,600 units, a month-on-month increase of 25.26% in production and 36.98% in sales, and a year-on-year increase of 53.55% in production and 34.44% in sales. The production and sales of three-wheeled motorcycles were 225,900 and 224,900 respectively, a month-on-month decrease of 7.1% and a 7.91%, and a year-on-year increase of 4.9% and 3.8%.
From January to April, fuel motorcycle production and sales were 4.9511 million and 4.9451 million units, a year-on-year increase of 11.57% and 10.08%. Electric motorcycle production and sales were 990,400 and 990,400 units, a year-on-year decrease of 56.51% and 50.73%. From January to April, the total production and sales of motorcycles were 5.9415 million and 5.9365 million, down 11.52% and 8.73% year-on-year. Among them, the production and sales of two-wheeled motorcycles were 5.1731 million and 5.1653 million, down 12.92% and 9.72% year-on-year. The production and sales of large-displacement recreational motorcycles (displacement >250CC) were 185,500 and 188,100, up 23.01% and 15.26% year-on-year, respectively. The production and sales of three-wheeled motorcycles were 768,400 and 771,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 0.76% and 1.46%.
From January to April, the top 10 fuel motorcycle sales companies (groups) were Dachangjiang (594,400 units), Loncin (475,400 units), Zongshen (303,500 units), Yinxiang(235,700 units),Tayo (223,600 units), Sundiro-Honda(208,000 units), Luoyang Northern Group(202,600 units), Haojin (196,500 units), Wuyang-Honda(174,600 units), , and Summit Motor(155,000 units).
From January to April, the top 10 electric motorcycle sales companies (groups) were Yadea (451,100 units), Zongshen (142,500 units), Luyuan (100,700 units), Sunra (70,200 units), Huaihai (60,400 units), Bus New Energy (45,400 units), Wuxing (22,500 units), Tailg (19,600 units), Jinyi (19,000 units), and Loncin (17,000 units).
Export Situation
In April, China’s motorcycle foreign trade exports continued to grow, with a significant year-on-year and month on month increase in export volume. From January to April, it could be seen that the cumulative export volume increased significantly and China’s motorcycle foreign trade exports continued to grow.
In April, 922,700 motorcycles were exported, a month-on-month increase of 9.52% and a year-on-year increase of 25.36%; the export value was US$580 million, a month-on-month increase of 8.46% and a year-on-year increase of 17.07%. Among them, 893,800 two-wheeled motorcycles were exported, a increase of 11.64% month-on-month and an increase 28.11% year-on-year; 28,900 three-wheeled motorcycles were exported, a decrease of 30.36% month-on-month and 24.57% year-on-year.
From January to April, the total export volume of motorcycle manufacturers was US$2.588 billion, a year-on-year increase of 21.17%. The export volume of complete vehicles was 3.217 million units, a year-on-year increase of 32.87%, and the export value was US$ 2.06 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23.94%. Motorcycle engine exports were 375,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 26.68%, and the export value was US$ 68 million, a year-on-year increase of 19.91%. The export volume of ATVs was 129,600 units, a year-on-year increase of 20.53%, and the export value was US$327 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. The export value of motorcycle parts was US$ 115 million, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%.
From January to April, the top 10 motorcycle exporting companies were: Loncin, Dachangjiang, Yinxiang, Tayo, Haojin, Zongshen, Summit Motor, Sundiro-Honda, Lifan,and DAYUN. The above 10 companies exported a total of 1,919,000 units, accounting for 59.65% of total motorcycle exports.
