In March, the production and sales volume of motorcycles increased steadily both month-on-month and year-on-year, and foreign trade exports maintained a strong growth momentum. From the overall situation in the first quarter, the production and sales volume of motorcycles increased significantly. The domestic sales market for fuel motorcycles declined slightly, large-displacement motorcycles above 250ml grew rapidly, and electric motorcycles showed a more obvious recovery trend. In terms of foreign trade exports, the high growth trend of last year continued, and the export structure continued to optimize. Overall, the motorcycle industry showed a good development trend.

Production and sales Situation

In March, the industry produced and sold 1.6064 million and 1.5776 million fuel motorcycles, increased 49.08% and 41.28% month-on-month, and increased 15.81% and 17.89% year-on-year, the production and sales of electric motorcycles were 354,300 and 344,000, increased 42.01% and 41.86% month-on-month, and increased 3.95% and 2.73% year-on-year. In March, the production and sales of motorcycles were 1.9607 million and 1.9216 million, increased 47.75% and 41.38% month-on-month, and increased 13.47% and 14.86% year-on-year. Among them, the production and sales of two-wheeled vehicles were 1.7129 million and 1.6719 million, increased 47.91% and 39.83% month-on-month, and increased 15.37% and 16.97% year-on-year. The production and sales of large-displacement leisure and entertainment motorcycles (displacement above 250cc, excluding 250cc) were 88,400 and 88,100, increased 60.72% and 52.69% month-on-month, and increased 55.09% and 68.45% year-on-year. The production and sales of three-wheeled motorcycles were 247,800 and 249,600, increased 46.68% and 52.76% month-on-month, and increased 1.89% and 2.44% year-on-year.

In the first quarter, the industry produced and sold 4.0621 million fuel motorcycles and 4.096 million units, increased 15.81% and 16.85% year-on-year; the industry produced and sold 810,900 electric motorcycles and 801,000 units, increased 17.16% and 18.31% year-on-year. And a total of 4.8729 million and 4.897 million motorcycles were produced and sold, with production and sales increasing by 16.61% and 17.09% year-on-year. Among them, the production and sales of two-wheeled motorcycles were 4.2919 million and 4.3119 million, with a year-on-year increase of 18.03% and 18.6%; the production and sales of large-displacement leisure and entertainment motorcycles (displacement above 250cc, excluding 250cc) were 207,800 and 204,800, with a year-on-year increase of 82.12% and 77.23%. The production and sales of three-wheeled motorcycles were 581,000 and 585,100, with a year-on-year increase of 7.11% and 7.01%.

From January to March, the top 10 fuel motorcycle sales companies (groups) were Dachangjiang(521,600 units), Loncin(435,000 units), Zongshen(249,400 units), Tayo(246,400 units), Yinxiang(173,900 units), Sundiro-Honda(173,300 units), Haojin(156,900 units), Dayang(139,200 units), Jiangmen Summit(133,700 units), and Wuyang-Honda(125,600 units).

In the first quarter, the top 10 electric motorcycle sales companies (groups) were Yadea Group(290,300 units), Luyuan(126,300 units), Zongshen(109,600 units), Jiangsu Sunra(70,100 units), Huaihai(40,300 units), Bus New Energy(39,600 units), CFMOTO(31,300 units), Lovol(19,300 units), Loncin(15,000 units), and Jinyi(14,100 units).

Export Situation

In March, 1.0978 million motorcycles were exported, increased 42.44% month-on-month and 30.3% year-on-year; the export value was $1.168 billion, increased 125.42% month-on-month and 118.42% year-on-year. Among them, 1.0393 million two-wheeled motorcycles were exported, increased 41.78% month-on-month and 29.82% year-on-year; 58,500 three-wheeled motorcycles were exported, increased 55.39% month-on-month and 39.59% year-on-year.

In the first quarter, the total export value of motorcycle manufacturing enterprises was $2.806 billion, a year-on-year increase of 51.27%. The export volume of complete vehicles was 2.9274 million, increased 27.59%year-on-year, and the export value was $2.354 billion, increased 59.04% year-on-year. The export of motorcycle engines was 322,700 units, increased 18.34% year-on-year, and the export value was $62 million, decreased 1.77% year-on-year. The export of beach cars was 98,300 units, increased 5.25% year-on-year, and the export value was $284 million, increased 25.35% year-on-year. The export value of motorcycle parts was $106 million, increased 24.45% year-on-year.

In the first quarter, the top 10 motorcycle exporting companies were: Loncin, Dachangjiang, Tayo, Yinxiang, Zongshen, Haojin, Jiangmen Summit, Sundiro-Honda, Lifan, RATO. The above ten companies exported a total of 1.8155 million units, accounting for 62% of the total motorcycle exports.
