LIFAN V16S Test Ride Review
LIFAN V16S is a cruiser with a classic American cruiser style. Its body line is muscular, featuring its product positioning of comfort, passion and fashion.

Travel and suspension system

In terms of suspension system, V16S is also introduced a relatively mature layout scheme. Like LIFAN V16, the V16S is equipped with a V-twin air-cooled four-stroke engine and adopts a highly reliable SOHC structure and a V-shaped two-cylinder layout scheme. The closed-loop electronic injection system ensures its economical efficiency and achieves a better linear torque play.
According to the official data, the V16 engine uses a small diameter and long travel distance design, its piston travel distance is longer than the ordinary engine, and it has a compression ratio of 10:1 and a five-gear transmission system which can achieve a maximum power of 14.5kW and a maximum torque of 18N•m. This engine is one of the few V-twin engines in China. As for riding experiences, the adoption of the low center of gravity and the long wheelbase makes the bike show its extremely strong low-speed stability, which gives the riders a strong confidence. The resistance adjustment of front and rear shock absorber is moderate, its feedback on the bump road is kind of slow, but its rigid support to the bike is outstanding. When you come round the corner at third gear, the engine’s power output and rear shock absorption are very consistent, which can quickly make you find the center of gravity of the bike.
V16S, with its low-speed torque and V-twin engine shows a pretty well power performance in the low-speed range. In the first three gears, you only need to press on the gas softly and ease the clutch, V16S can easily wander in the street, leisurely without any clumsy feeling.
Due to the belt drive system, when you engage the first gear, V16S early power is very soft. If you press the accelerator slightly, V16S can output the torque quickly. For a model with 5-gear, if you can ensure riding at 3,500rpm and 4,500rpm, a pull feeling of accelerating will be very apparent from second gear to fourth gear. This feeling will continue until the speed reaches about 105km/h. The official maximum speed is 130km/h, which means that the V16S can provide you with a reliable acceleration feeling in the range of full speed.
