Marshal Released YES Soft-tail 255, Priced at ¥16,680 in the Chinese Market
On August 30th, Marshal officially released its new cruiser model, the YES Soft-tail 255. Positioned in the entry-level market, this model offers a highly cost-effective option for Soft-tail enthusiasts, especially novice riders.
The YES Soft-tail 255 inherits the design cues of the YES 418, though with refinements to details like the fuel tank, wheels, and handlebars, showcasing a more youthful aesthetic. The motorcycle’s sleek lines and harmonious proportions reflect Marshal’s meticulous attention to design. As a soft-tail model, the YES Soft-tail 255 utilizes a lightweight, soft-tail-specific frame, boasting a curb weight of just 170 kg. This frame not only shares the same high toughness as the YES 418, but also boasts superior vibration filtering and handling through its inverted front and center-mounted rear shocks.
The YES Soft-tail 255 is powered by a water-cooled, V-twin motor developed in-house by Marshal. This motor has a displacement of 249cc, produces 20.7kW at 9,000rpm, 23.5Nm of torque at 8,000rpm, and a maximum horsepower of approximately 28.00hp. It’s equipped with a belt drive and slipper clutch.
It also spares no expense when it comes to features. The YES Soft-tail 255 features LED lighting throughout, with round headlights that are both instantly recognizable and incredibly bright. The bike is equipped with inverted front shock absorbers and center-adjustable rear shock absorbers, offering superior performance compared to traditional dual-spring rear shocks. Braking features include a Nissin dual-piston floating caliper with a 300mm single disc at the front and a Nissin single-piston floating caliper with a 240mm single disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS and TCS traction control ensure riding safety. Convenient features include keyless start, dual USB ports, and a T-BOX smart car system. The 16-liter fuel tank also provides excellent range. The 690mm seat height is very user-friendly for beginners and smaller riders, while the raised handlebars enhance everyday riding comfort.
The launch of the YES Soft-tail 255 not only completes the Marshal’s soft-tail cruiser product line, but also lowers the barrier to entry for soft-tail cruisers at an affordable price. The YES Soft-tail 255 is expected to become a key model in the entry-level cruiser market by 2025, offering a more cost-effective option for young riders.
