An elaborate camping trip

The beginning of autumn has gone, streets and alleys in Guangdong are still in summer. However, the wind has more flavor of autumn, less summer heat. The weekend’s weather is very pleasant with sunshine, blue sky and white clouds. We were lucky and the weather was perfect for the riding.

This time I am riding the crossover scooter KPV150 which is claimed to be mildly off-road. Its appearance is completely different from those used in daily shopping. It has a smart off-road appearance and when riding on the road, some people always look at it.

In terms of storage, the space under the seat is not very large, but the two small storage compartments under the handle are quite practical. There is a USB port and a cigarette lighter port in the compartment on the right, so you don’t have to worry about falling out when the phone is charging inside. Another compartment has a satisfying length of space and can even hold a 500ml mineral water bottle.

We were going to the place called “Xunhuang prairie”, being about 100km away from Jiangmen Xinhui.

In addition to the wind and freedom, there is world’s life

The sun was hottest when we set out, but even so, we did not feel very hot all the way. It had been about 2 months since my last riding trip, and I enjoyed the ride more with a strong desire to ride. I like to ride on the national road, like to coming across the market-day in those small towns, like their shouting with their own dialect and like this world’s life.

I am used to riding the motorcycle with gears, so it is inevitably that I am a little uncomfortable riding a scooter, but I have to admit that the scooter is more convenient when passing through the congested road. The KPV scooter has the idle stop-start system. Turning on this function when waiting for the red light, even if you accidentally twist the throttle, the motorcycle will not start which is safer.

After passing small towns, cities and bends, we came to the destination.

When riding on the mountain roads, in some slope sections, the power of this bike can continue to strengthen. Of course, cornering stability is satisfactory.

I did not feel tired physically and mentally after a long journey. The handlebars of KPV are a little higher, and the pedal position is also a little forward. The overall riding posture is relaxed.

Afterglow sunset, talking under the stars

We put up the tent by the lake before the sunset.

On the prairie without tall buildings, the night was very quiet. The sound of small fish jumping in the lake was very clear heard. Looking up at the sky, you could see the stars all over the sky. Looking back on these years, I had seen rice in summer, maple leaves in winter and sunset and sunset glow between mountains. It was my first time to enjoy stars on such a quiet and vast lawn, made coffee under the starry sky and talked about the past with friends. It turns out that we can become friends because we love motorcycles enough.

Play mud with KPV

Early in the morning, the lawn was covered with dew. Riding along the lake, all the way is bumpy road, some bumps are relatively large. After riding a lot of paved roads in the city, I actually kind of like it.

KPV also played its advantages. This set of Timsun multi-purpose tires perform slightly better than ordinary street tires on unpaved roads. Deeper tire pattern can provide more grip. Higher ground clearance and the pass ability will naturally be better than ordinary scooters. The front shock absorber has a long stroke and is not easy to touch the ground and the rear middle shock absorber improves sports. The front small windshield is adjustable.

Riding forward, I met a muddy road. KPV 150, as a crossover scooter, has a little off-road ability compared to the ordinary commute scooter, and there is no pure ADV performance on this scooter. But this motorcycle is light, the body is not high, I am 1.6 meters tall. Even if the bike falls in the mud, I can easily pick up and continue to ride.

Feeling

This trip, whether it is the flexibility of controlling in the city, or the comfort of short motorcycle rides and good performance in potholes, KPV lets me experience the fun of scooter. So it is suitable for this kind of short holiday leisure riding.

Some users had reflected that was not very convenient to open the fuel tank (need to open the seat cushion first). Now the new one can directly open the fuel tank by key.
