Moto Morini Released the Seimmezzo 6½ for the Chinese Market
On the evening of April 26, Moto Morini released the twin Seimmezzo 6½ models online, i.e. STR (road version ) and SCR (Scrambler version), which are priced at RMB42,800 and RMB44,800 respectively for the Chinese market. The main differences between the two versions lie in the handlebar, face, wheel hub and color scheme. According to the manufacturer, STR can be modified into SCR.
The design of Seimmezzo 6½ is inspired by MILANO 1200. The frame adopts 20 chrome molybdenum alloy steel. Both models come with a retro round headlight, and a full-colour LCD instrument that has built-in tire pressure monitoring and human-machine interconnection functions. The seat is properly cushioned, and the SCR’s saddle shows a stronger retro style.
It has front and rear KYB shock absorbers: front preload adjustable inverted 120mm-travel, and rear side preload adjustable 118mm-travel shock absorbers. It is worth noting that the SCR has similar suspension travel as the STR, which means the SCR may not be such as conqueror of non-paved roads.
Both these Seiemmezzo 6½ models arrive withthe configuration of X-CAPE 650, such as Brembos: front four-piston callipers with 295mm dual floating discs, and rear two-piston callipers with 255mm single disc.
During the online presentation, Xiao Bing,a famous Taiwanese rider asked why the Seimmezzo 6½ models use a CFMOTO engine? Mr. Chu, the general manager of Moto Morini, did not answer the question directly. We believe Moto Morini has good reasons. The CFMOTO 650cc engine produces a maximum power of 45kw/8500rpm and a maximum torque of 56N.m/7000rpm. It has the Japanese FCC sliding clutch as a standard configuration. The 15.5L fuel tank can deliver a cruising range of about 300km. It is also claimed that the bike can reach a 0-100km/h acceleration of 4.1s, and a top speed of 180km/h with the engine tuned by Moto Morini.
How do those stats and details of the Seimmezzo 6½ impress you? Objectively speaking, with retro outfit, high-end configuration and a price tag at around RMB40,000, the two models may gain their place in the market.
Hopefully Moto Molini will ensure quality and after-sales services to enhance reputation in the market so that riders will have more choices.
