In the past year, many amazing new motorcycles debuted at the brands’ release conferences as well as domestic and overseas exhibitions. We’re here to have a brief review of the new forces launched into the market in 2019.
From the launch of the VOGE 300R to the birth of independent VOGE brand, Loncin has been returned to the top brands list over the past two years. In addition to the new products, Loncin has gradually deepened its cooperation with the world’s large manufacturers. Whether it is the C400 series scooters manufactured for BMW or the small-displacement model jointly developed with MV Agusta, they have both aroused wide attention. Last year Loncin’s new motorcycles were also remarkable.
From retro to off-road and then to new energy models, Loncin is an all-round development brand while ensuring attractions for every aspect, which is really valuable for an independent brand. The most-discussed 650DS, after three years of polishing from its debut to sale, is definitely a best player among the domestic ADV models.
The 650DS body is relatively narrow, unlike the common wide body ADVs. The head end takes on a short beak shape, which is high recognizable with the two-section-adjustable windscreen. The hunchback fuel tank and the sunken saddle make a comfortable riding triangle.
650DS is equipped with a 650cc single-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 37kw/6,750rpm and a maximum torque of 60N·m/5,500rpm. The dual throttle wires enable flexible control of the power.
Speaking of a cruiser, people always think of the V-twin, large displacement, great power, long body, heavy handling, and the recognizable sound. With the rise of the small engines, small displacement cruisers become increasingly popular. Qingqi KR GV300S is one of this kind.
As a small displacement cruiser, the manufacturer positioned it to be used for urban life purpose. Although this may be a little contrary to the original intention of a cruiser, it is a unique motorcycle in the city. Its uniqueness comes first from the appearance－an infrequent Bobber style, with unnecessary body parts removed to reduce weight and wheelbase, which makes it more suitable for urban use.
GV300S is powered by a V-shaped, double-cylinder SOHC 8-valve water-cooled engine－the included angle is designed to be 60°, so the engine can be smaller. This is advantageous to shortening the wheelbase and delivering better low torques. The maximum power is 22.1 kW/8,500rpm, and the maximum torque is 25.6 N·m/6,500rpm. With the proper function of the large rear 52-teeth crankset and chain transmission, this small cruiser also provides an impressive acceleration experience.
Qingqi KR GV300S has distinctive looks, and meanwhile it finds a balance between “style” and “performance”, allowing you to experience the charm of a cruiser in the city.
SYM (Sanyang Motor) and KYMCO are both Taiwanese brands. SYM’s 2019 products were also attractive. In addition to the competitive CRUiSYM in 2018, in 2019 SYM retained its product power and performance while paying more attention to cost performance.
JOYMAX can be regarded as the simple version of CRUiSYM series. If the CRUiSYM series targets the high-end market, then JOYMAX is obviously focusing on the popular civilian market.
JOYMAX Z300i uses halogen bulbs in the headlight set, including high/low beam, turn signals, and daytime running lights, while LED lights are used for the taillight and brake lights, and the rear direction lights are traditional bulbs. The biggest change in the appearance of JOYMAX Z300i and CRUiSYM series is that the body paint area is reduced, and instead, a large number of paintless matte black parts are used. JOYMAX Z300i carries the same single-cylinder water-cooled engine as the CRUiSYM 300. The engine cylinder is upgraded to a aluminum ceramic cylinder, which not only has better air tightness and durability, but also reduces the weight of the engine.
JOYMAX Z300i is not inferior to CRUiSYM in terms of power and control. There is only some reduced configuration due to price consideration.

TARO is back on the stage in 2019. The brand got hot when its GP-1 debuted, and this time the heat was brought by the cost-effective big scooter: EXPLORER(TR300T).
Promoting the only 300cc scooter in China that sells at less than 20,000 yuan, TARO has set a number of records. Although some problems were found after the first batch delivery, TARO adjusted the product quickly after receiving market feedback, and also replaced the previous batch products during the follow-up inspection, which gained itself good market reputation.
At last year’s EICMA ,TARO unveiled another sports style scooter named HURACAN(TR400T), and it is also a highly anticipated product.

VOX from TEYIN is equipped with a new and thicker cushion, fully considering the ride comfort of long-term driving, making long-distance travel, motorcycle riding become a kind of enjoyment.
The strength and mechanical properties of its frame are two times higher than those of the ordinary seamless steel tube. VOX 125 carries a 13L fuel tank, and 400 kilometers is feasible. The arc decals design has more retro feeling.

Instruments use round design, important information is clear at a glance, creating a delicate and dynamic atmosphere, increasing the brightening design of spray paint outer ring, and more ancient style design.

As a representative of the old motorcycle enterprises, ZONGSHEN has been following the trends in updating its products in the new era, and its brand, CYCLONE, has also been launching models of different styles to adapt to the various market demands.
From street bikes to rally models and then retro models, ZONGSHEN’s new products have covered the mainstream entertainment models and can basically meet the consumer needs of the current entry-level market. Moreover, ZONGSHEN has established cooperation with the old British motorcycle brand Norton. The stunning debut at last year’s domestic show also implied the upcoming launch of the model co-built by ZONGSHEN and Norton.
From transportation tools to entertainment models, from single cylinder to multiple cylinders, from 70cc, 125cc to 600cc and even larger displacements, Chinese enterprises, facing severe policy pressure, has been undergoing the over 10 years of development process of foreign brands in just a few years. Although there are defects, with the improvement of consumers’ vision and discrimination ability, bad manufacturers are eliminated. Those survived and developed are enterprises that strive to build high-quality to better serve the customers and the market.
It is true that the performance and workmanship of many products still lag behind that of high-quality imported brands. However, since there is a market, there is demand, and there are always people who maintain their expectations for and take pride in our own brands. Hope that more and more high-quality products will be produced by domestic motorcycle enterprises, providing more Chinese riders an ideal riding experience.
