QJMOTOR and Italjet Collaborate to Create a 700cc Twin-cylinder Scooter
QJMOTOR officially announced the QJ700-8K, a 700cc twin-cylinder scooter developed in collaboration with Italian brand Italjet, in the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s 398th batch of new vehicle announcements. The new model closely replicates the design of the Italjet Dragster 700 Twin, earning industry acclaim as a “crossover fusion of racing and scooter.” Its exposed red-gray paint job closely resembles the colors of the Ducati Gresini racing team, creating a sporty feel.
The QJ700-8K is equipped with the same 693cc inline twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the Xiao 700S and Benelli TRK 702. It boasts a maximum power of 56kW and an estimated torque of 68.2-70N·m. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and chain drive, with a top speed of 190km/h. This configuration further enhances the driving experience, bringing it closer to the handling of a street car.
The new motorcycle measures 2110mm in length, 900mm in width, and 1215mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1550mm and a curb weight of 205kg. It is equipped with 15-inch tires (120/70R15 front and 160/60R15 rear) at both ends. The domestically produced model will omit the Öhlins titanium brakes, rear shocks, and Acrocodile exhaust system found on the factory version of the Dragster 700 Twin, but will retain the “QJMOTOR Standard Package” of Brembo calipers and Marzocchi suspension, along with standard ABS.
QJMOTOR’s cooperation not only introduced Itajet’s avant-garde design, but also reduced costs through localization, which may open up a new track for scooters.
