QJMOTOR Advances Intelligent Manufacturing with New Eastern New District Plant

In the second half of this year, QJMOTOR officially launched and steadily advanced the relocation of its core production system, with part of its manufacturing capacity moving from the original Chengdong site to the Eastern New District of Wenling. As the new plant is progressively put into operation, QJMOTOR is entering a new manufacturing phase characterized by scale, automation, and digitalization.

According to publicly available information, the Eastern New District plant represents a total investment of approximately RMB 3.8 billion, covers an area of about 796 mu (around 530,000 square meters), and is designed for an annual production capacity exceeding 1 million units. Positioned as QJMOTOR’s new automated assembly and manufacturing hub, the facility integrates motorcycles and electric vehicles into a unified planning framework, with the goal of building an Industry 4.0–oriented digital industrial park serving global markets.

Compared with traditional factories, the transformation of the new plant goes far beyond an increase in the number of automated machines. Instead, it reflects a systematic restructuring of the entire production logic. QJMOTOR has introduced a comprehensive digital management system covering materials, assembly, and quality traceability, ensuring that each vehicle is incorporated into a unified data management chain from the moment its components enter the factory.

In the materials management stage, all components are first stored in an automated high-bay warehouse upon arrival and registered through a WMS (Warehouse Management System). Each component is assigned a unique QR code, effectively completing its “identity registration” within the system. From picking and line feeding to final assembly and after-sales traceability, all processes are built around this coding mechanism. This not only improves production efficiency but also significantly enhances the precision of quality traceability, enabling rapid identification of affected vehicles in the event of component-related issues.

On the assembly side, the new plant adopts a clearer modular production concept. Certain components are pre-assembled in designated areas before entering the main assembly line—such as lighting systems combined with instrument clusters, or wheel assemblies integrated with suspension systems—thereby reducing operational complexity at final assembly stations. In addition, a “one vehicle, one material cart” approach has been introduced, with each motorcycle accompanied by a dedicated materials cart throughout the assembly process, minimizing the risks of missing or incorrect installations.

Once in the final assembly stage, the vehicle frame is laser-etched with a VIN code and linked to the complete set of production data. Information such as tightening operations, inspection records, and functional test results is digitally recorded and fully traceable. In terms of line configuration, QJMOTOR has deployed both AGV-based flexible production lines and conventional conveyor lines, allowing the plant to accommodate different models and varying production volumes.
Notably, quality control has also been significantly upgraded at the new facility. Networked torque-controlled electric tools are widely used during assembly, with every tightening operation recorded in real time. If preset parameters are not met, the system automatically triggers an alarm and initiates a re-inspection process. According to relevant personnel, compared with the former plant, the overall first-pass yield rate at the new factory has increased by approximately 20–25%, a substantial improvement under large-scale production conditions.

As the Eastern New District plant continues to release capacity, QJMOTOR’s manufacturing system is shifting from a focus on scale expansion toward a balanced emphasis on quality and efficiency. This relocation represents not merely a change in physical location, but a critical step forward in the company’s journey toward intelligent manufacturing and lean production.
