On March 1, electric two-wheeler manufacturer YADEA officially inaugurated and put into operation the first phase of its smart manufacturing factory located in the emerging industrial park of Bac Ninh Province, one of northern Vietnam’s key industrial centers. With a total investment of more than US$100 million and covering an area of approximately 232,200 square meters, the facility is regarded as one of the most advanced electric two-wheeler manufacturing bases in the region. Local government leaders, representatives from relevant ministries, company executives, distinguished guests, and national media attended the inauguration ceremony.

During the ceremony, YADEA’s exclusive flagship electric motorcycle for the Vietnamese market, Osta, officially rolled off the production line. Designed with a neo-retro styling language, the model was developed specially to meet the needs of Vietnamese consumers. According to official specifications, the motorcycle offers a maximum range of up to 180 kilometers, highlighting YADEA’s continued investment in electric two-wheeler innovation and localized product development.

At the event, YADEA also announced a strategic partnership with ride-hailing and mobility platform Grab Vietnam. The two companies plan to jointly promote the adoption of electric two-wheeler in ride-hailing and delivery services, helping accelerate the transition toward greener transportation in major Vietnamese cities. As part of the initiative, the partners introduced an incentive program that offers eligible Grab driver-partners rewards of up to 4 million Vietnamese dong to encourage them to switch to YADEA electric two-wheeler.

The launch of the new factory further strengthens Vietnam’s role in YADEA’s global strategic footprint and underscores the company’s long-term commitment to building a comprehensive green mobility ecosystem in Southeast Asia. As a new-generation smart manufacturing facility, the project aligns with YADEA’s global standards in production efficiency, quality management, and automation, setting a new benchmark for the company’s overseas intelligent manufacturing network.

In terms of production planning, the Bac Ninh plant has an initial designed capacity of one million electric two-wheelers per year, with plans to expand to two million units annually in subsequent phases. As the project progresses, the first phase is expected to create approximately 800 to 1,000 local jobs. Once the second phase is completed, the workforce is projected to grow to around 3,000 employees, providing sustained momentum for local economic growth and employment.

Unlike traditional assembly plants, the facility incorporates YADEA’s next-generation smart manufacturing model. Through the extensive use of digital systems and automated equipment, the factory can achieve more efficient and precise production processes, ensuring that every electric two-wheeler produced in Vietnam meets the same unified quality standards applied across YADEA’s global operations.

From a manufacturing perspective, the factory is equipped with a fully digital management system that integrates SAP and MES platforms, enabling digitalized production management and real-time synchronization across the entire production process. This allows for strict control over every stage of manufacturing, improving operational efficiency while ensuring consistent product quality. In addition, a comprehensive quality management system has been implemented, with standardized procedures covering every stage from raw material intake to final inspection to enhance overall vehicle reliability and durability.

Automation and robotic technologies are also widely applied in key production processes, including motor manufacturing and frame fabrication. The use of automated equipment not only improves mechanical precision but also reduces human error, ensuring product consistency and stability.

Vietnam has long been a key market in YADEA’s global strategy. Since entering the Vietnamese market in 2019, the company has continuously expanded its investment in local channels, products, and manufacturing capabilities, positioning Vietnam as a crucial production and supply chain hub for Southeast Asia. The official launch of the Bac Ninh smart manufacturing factory marks an important step in YADEA’s push toward deeper localization and regional supply chain development. In the future, the facility will not only provide electric two-wheelers tailored to Vietnamese consumers but will also serve as a manufacturing and export base supporting the broader Southeast Asian market.
