China – KOVE 450Rally should be a stranger to riders who are interested in off-road bikes. The engineering prototype unveiled in 2019 has been tested for three years, and the goal of the 450Rally is to represent Chinese manufacturers in Dakar Rally.

The launch event, held in the Tengger Desert, unveiled the civilian version 450Rally’s price of 43,800 yuan and the competition version at 76,800 yuan. They differ in engine power, vehicle positioning and configuration. The civilian high-seat version can be upgraded to the competition version.

The event also unveiled the KOVE MX250 and KOVE 800X. The MX250 will be sold at 26,980 yuan. MX250 has ushered in its 2.0 era, which not only has original appearance design but also integrates lightweight and high-strength technology accumulated from the development of 450Rally. Thus, MX250 as a pure racing model has surpassed many foreign products in lightweight. In order to provide better ride experience, the width of the engine is narrowed by 50mm, and the power is increased to 28kW. KOVE 800X is 30kg lighter than YAMAHA T700, according to the introduction of KOVE. The 800X will be the main model to expand the European market for KOVE.

At the event, KOVE explained the reason for building the 450Rally: It costs a lot of money, but it is their interest and pursuit, the goal is to represent China in the Dakar Rally. 450Rally embodies KOVE’s motorcycle dream. The major challenge is that there is no domestic standard for rally models, so KOVE has to build their own standard and rely on the professional riders’ experience.
