Qianjiang K-Light 202 Static Test Review
To further enrich its product line, Qianjiang, under the control of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, has launched the series that are built with cruiser concept, and K-Light 202 is one of the pioneer products.
As a new model developed for the National IV emission standard and the domestic market, K-Light 202 is born with good style genes. Before that, K-Light had already received a good response in the European and South American markets.
In the overseas market, K-Light is built with a single cylinder air-cooled engine, with a displacement of 124cc, a maximum power of 7.8kw, and a maximum torque of 8.9N•m. The domestic version K-Light 202 receives upgrades on the power system, with a 197cc single cylinder air and oil cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 9.5kw and a maximum torque of 13.5N•m.
Although the cruiser market is relatively small at the mo- ment, there are plenty of retro and stylish bike followers. K-Light 202 has an American retro bike modelling, concise, dynamic, and unrestrained. This worldwide popular style not only attracts mature riders but also appeals to young people with vintage aesthetic conception
K-Light 202’s curb weight is only 156kg. The lower seat height and compact wheelbase setting allow it to have a rel- atively easy driving experience. Being light does not mean it is frail. On the contrary, the concise and exposed frame shows a bold temperament. Hot-Rod rims, retro tires, simple headlights and taillights, textured front and rear shock absorbers, short and sharp front and rear mudguards, all these elements constitute the individualized chic configura tion.
K-Light 202 is a fashion retro bike that is suitable for various riding conditions – commuting, or short-to-medium distance tour. The potential customers of this bike are those who know how to enjoy a life, while do not like extravagance, and at the same time look forward to having a unique temperament.
The round lamp is encircled in a matte black shell. The H4 halogen bulb is simple and utility.
The simple styled taillight is also a satisfying part.
The outspread XL turn lights well complement the front and rear lights to present a classic temperament.
The small and exquisite single LCD meter displays the speed, rev, mileage, oil level, and some other information, but no gear position, time, and temperature. The data cannot be quickly identified when the meter is exposed to strong sunlight. The background screen of the meter is seen to be lake blue during the night.
The short flat reduction straight handlebar also presents a ret- ro style, and it helps improve the handling experience. The switches on the left and right handlebar differs greatlyfrom the traditional design, similar to that on a Harley. In addi- tion, the switches are quality items.
The 11.8L water-drop fuel tank adopts an asymmetric design, which looks more flexible. The wasp-waist one-piece cushion is comfortable.
The front 37mm vertical fork looks firm, and the frosted fork sleeve is provided in alignment with the overall style of the bike.
The silver black rear shock uses an adjustable preload double air-bag spring, giving a high-end quality look.
The cradle frame and the long rocker arm design have obvious anti-vibration effects, which makes the riding more comfortable.
The front brake adopts a single disc three-piston caliper, and the rear has a single disc double piston caliper. The bike also uses a CBS, ensuring a higher safety factor. When stepping on the rear brake rod, both the front and rear brakes function.
The exhaust pipe is short but effective.
To unify the overall stance of the bike, the front and rear tires use big tooth vacuum tires from Chengyuan , with a 10-spoke matte black rim, full of retro style.
K-Light 202 has a small mudguard at the back that is fastened by a single side bracket.
The chrome-plated side stand is provided with the flameout-on-side stand function. This is a “personalized” flameout switch. Even when the bike is in the neutral, if the side stand is not opened , the ignition sound can be heard, but the engine cannot be started.
The Front and back use quality modified pedals, which saves the user’s effort for additional modification. The compact rear handrail is made of aluminum alloy.
In general, Qianjiang K-Light 202 is a recommendable bike. Its design style is rarely seen in the market. The process and details, as well as the applicability of the configuration, have achieved a high standard. Compared with the previous Qianjiang models, K-Light 202 has received many upgrades.
This is a promising bike with a high starting point. It may become a typical representative of Chinese cruisers if it is conple styled taillight is also a satisfying part.
