On March 2, 2021, the Kenya station of United Nations Electric Mobility Program was officially launched.

At the launch ceremony, the UNEP executive deputy director Joyce Msura, Kenya Power CEO Bernerd Ngugi, Kenya Kisumu’s governor Anyang Nyong’o and president of Karura Forest Friends Ms. Winnie Kiiru, and other guests, jointly unveiled the first smart electric motorcycle created by TAILG and UNEP.

It not only reveals that the cooperation between TAILG and the United Nations has entered a substantial operation stage, but also indicates that the domestic electric vehicle brand has been recognized by the international market. TAILG Group has become the first enterprise in China’s electric vehicle industry to be certified by the United Nations.

At the event, Joyce Msura, thanked TAILG for its support to the United Nations’ e-mobility program. She pointed out that electric mobility has become a global consensus on environmental protection. As a UN electric mobility partner, TAILG not only actively participated in the project implementation, but also provided valuable product and technical support. They look forward to continuous cooperation with TAILG to promote electric mobility in more countries, jointly making the global village cleaner and greener.

To ensure that the unveiling ceremony was held smoothly, TAILG African Office had started the assembly of its electric vehicle products on the African continent as early as February 15^th.

With the support of TAILG, more than 20 Kenyan technicians mastered the assembly process and technical standards, and successfully completed the assembly of the first 50 products.

Kenyan representatives expressed that TAILG’s move promoted the localization of electric vehicles in Africa. Kenya is not a destination and a starting point.

It is more helpful to teach people how to fish than to just give them fish. TAILG not only gets deeply involved in the global environment governance, but also introduces to the outside world the lead Chinese electric vehicle manufacturing technology, production experience, and assembling standards, to help Africa improve local production and processing capacity. TAILG’s president Yao Li said that Kenya’s collaborative production experience and pilot station would considerably increase the cooperation quality and speed with the UNEP. TAILG will break the single product export model and lead in exploring the overseas development model integrating overseas design, production, sales, and services.
