On March 25, the 2025 China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce International Development Branch Member Congress and Foreign Trade Export High-quality Development Forum was held in Beijing. Experts interpret the situation —– point out the direction for industry development

Li Bin, executive vice president of China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce, introduced in detail the current situation of China’s motorcycle industry and foreign trade development trend in 2024. He pointed out that in recently years, China’s motorcycle foreign trade exports have achieved remarkable results, maintaining a high level for many years in a row. In 2024, China exported a total of 14.5 million motorcycles, increase 27% year-on-year, achieved another historical peak. From January to February 2025,1.81million motorcycles were exported, increase 24% year-on-year, continuing the growth trend of last year. With the continuous advancement of the “Belt and Road” initiative, as well as the continuous deepening of the ASEAN Free Trade Area and RCEP cooperation, the motorcycle overseas market has broad space for development. Chinese motorcycle enterprises should firmly grasp this opportunity, strengthen trade cooperation with emerging markets, further optimize the overseas market layout, and achieve stable growth of foreign trade exports.

Zhang Yansheng, the researcher at the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research, delivered a keynote speech on the topic of “Opportunities and Challenges Facing Foreign Trade Exports in 2025”. He pointed out that in 2025, global uncertainties have increased significantly, countries’ economic growth paths have diverged, and foreign trade enterprises are facing new opportunities and challenges. At present, the number of new trade restrictive measures in the world has reached five times the average of 2010-2019, and domestic development has entered a critical period. Under the theme of “Three New and One High” Policy, entrepreneurs need to give full play to the spirit of innovation and go against the trend. At the same time, entrepreneurs must strengthen the self-discipline of the industry, resolutely put an end to the vicious competition of “internal volume”, and jointly maintain a good market order.

Zhang Lian, president of the International Development Branch of China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce, reported to the conference the work of the International Development Branch in 2024, and introduced the export of China’s motorcycles in overseas continents in detail.

In 2024, the motorcycle parts market grew by 40%, the number of buyers increased by 45%, and maintained a compound annual growth rate of 35% in the past three years, which has brought great opportunities for the cross-border business development of motorcycle enterprises.
