It is generally known that SANYA and Startec held a test ride activity of EFI motorcycles in China in 2017. This year, SANYA set foot on the journey of Guangdong to Tibet with the self-developed cub SY110-22, which is deployed with the National IV EFI system jointly developed by SANYA and Startec.

The tour started in Guangzhou, passing Guangxi, Guizhou Sichuan, and reached Tibet, and then back to Guangdong via Yunnan and Guangxi. Thi Ss test ride tour experienced the harsh natural environment of humidity, drought, plateau, high temperature, coldness and oxygen deprivation, covering a total distance over 10,000 kilometers.

Day 1: starting from Guangzhou

After the departure ceremony at SANYA’s headquarter, the test ride team set foot on the journey.

Day 3: Lianzhou – Shaoyang City, 318km

The speed limit was frequently encountered. Affected by rain and fog, riders rode carefully and safely arrived in Shaoyang City.

Day 4-5: Shaoyang City – Fenghuang Ancient City – Gongtan Ancient Town, 584 km

There were town roads, provincial roads, national roads, full of winding mountain roads and sharp turns but charming scenery. The team rode cross Hunan, Guizhou, and finally arrived at Gongtan Ancient Town in Chongqing.

Day 6: Gongtan Ancient Town – Banan District, Chongqing

Clear sky, riding along the 371km-long road between the cliff and Wujiang River, appreciating the picturesque scenery. It took 13 hours to arrive at the Startec’s EFI research and development base.

Day 11: Yongchuan, Chongqing – Meishan City, 309km

Arriving in Meishan city, the team began to make preparation for entering Tibet.

Starting from the 13th day, the test ride team left Sichuan and set foot on the famous “national highway 318”, starting its journey into Tibet. Sichuan – Tibet section of national highway 318 is the most beautiful and wonderful section. The scenery along the way is varied and colorful, which makes you feel experiencing different days in different mountains, and different seasons in one day. It is also recognized as the steepest and challenging highway in China: the Hengduan Mountains area in the eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau is the most complex and unique alpine and canyon area in the world. You do feel like “soul in heaven, body in hell”.

Day 13: Hongya County – Luding County, 201km

The team officially entered the famous landscape road–318 national highway. The logistic car had minor failure on the road, but the cub SY110-22 was all good. The team passed through the 3,447m high Erlang Mountain tunnel and the Erlang mountain winding road.

Day 15: Xinduqiao Town – Batang County, 369km

This is the most beautiful route along national highway 318, with the highest elevation of 4,900 meters, including more than 100 kilometers of alpine grassland: blue sky, white cloud, grassland, cattle, sheep presenting a most beautiful landscape.

Day 16-17: Batang County – Baxoi County, 417km

The most difficult and dangerous section of national highway 318, climbing across the 4,396m’s Lawu Mountain, 5130m’s Dongda Mountain and 72 turns on the winding mountain road. Riding on a road over 4,000m above the sea level severely tested the braking performance of the cub and human’s physical limits.

Day 18: Baxoi County – Bomi County, 250km

From an elevation of more than 4,000km to lower area, the landscape changes suddenly–mountains, rivers, valleys, snow-capped mountains, lakes and primeval forests extended to Bomi county, hometown of the Tibetan King.

Day 24: Lhasa

After 24 days, the team successfully entered Tibet, a pilgrimage paradise for motorcycle enthusiasts. The team arrived in Lhasa and held a press conference at the hotel, marking the success of the tour.

The Guangdong-Tibet 10,000km ride started from SANYA’s headquarter, passing Guangdong, Hunan, Guizhou, Chongqing and Sichuan, and then going all the way to Lhasa from the national highway 318. It lasted 24 days and covered more than 4,000 kilometers. Along the way, the test ride team experienced heavy rain, extreme heat, low temperature and high altitude climate, as well as rugged road conditions such as plateaus, mountain road and rivers.

In the face of various complicated road sections and extreme weather conditions, SANYA SY11-22 demonstrated excellent performance, normal operation of the EFI system and normal data, ensuring a smooth tour and riders’ safety.
