It has been half a year since the SK400-KG was officially released. With excellent appearance, good configuration and ultra-high cost performance, this SENKE flagship retro model has attracted the attention of many riders home and abroad, winning good reputation and sales results. We have conducted a test ride review of this bike before. To find out the night riding effect of SK400-KG, we conducted another test ride, and invited the beautiful rider Joann to  experience its performance.

Sci-fi novel design inspiration and ultimate elegant retro look

The SK400-KG is a modern retro model with alien creatures elements as the starting point to create a exposed muscular beast body combining the classic British retro style.

The classic round headlight, plump body, refined metal logo engraved on the fuel tank, round rear view mirror, pure black leather leather cushion, aluminum rear rocker arm, personalized stainless steel double exhaust, all reveal a stance of low-key elegance and simple luxury.

“This bike not only has good looks, but also provides a strong sense of security. I particularly like this space gray, which is fresh and elegant. Moreover, the detailed design of the round headlight is very distinctive: five half-moon shaped lens lights at the center, blue column-shaped streamlined headlight stretching the upper and lower ends, and surrounded by six round LED lens light at the left and right ends. The illumination range is wide enough to meet my nighttime riding needs.”

It is worth mentioning that SK400-KG, with a seat height of 760mm and a weight of 187kg, brings a very comfortable driving experience to the majority of riders. It is also friendly to 165cm Joann. Not only can her feet completely touch the ground, it is also easy to start, stop and walk the bike. It’s a plus for female riders who always consider this factor when choosing a bike.

Strong and stable power output and flexible control

Excellent power experience is the primary factor persuading consumers to buy the SK400-KG. The SK400-KG is equipped with the Zongshen asynchronous parallel two-cylinder water-cooled engine, with an actual displacement of 378cc, a maximum power of 26.6kW/9000rmp, and a maximum torque of 35N.m/6500rmp. It features two-cylinder two-channel inlet and exhaust design. The power output is flexible and immense. The chassis design brings out the full power of the engine, with the Delphi EFI ensuring continuous power output.

Joann said, SK400-KG is light and easy to control. It is easy to ride out a bend at 60km/h and accelerate to 100km/h within 6 seconds. But the front brake is a little too noisy at high speeds. The pedal position is slightly higher and relatively forward for her. The riding triangle did not feel very comfortable, which may need time to adapt, but the overall riding experience is satisfactory.

In terms of braking, the SK400-KG adopts a suspension system of a new design and professional adjustment. The front adopts a 41mm inverted shock absorber, with the diameter thickened to 55mm at the lower connecting plate. It has a rear central shock absorber, pre-load adjustable, and is also equipped with BOSCH double-channel ABS, effectively reducing the braking distance and ensuring riding safety.

During the test ride, the sliding clutch brought excellent experience. The gearshift process was smooth and silky, but the adjustment of the rear shock absorber was generally stiff. This may be to better adapt to some riders’ needs of riding on unpaved roads. The 19L fuel tank adequately supports a long-distance motorcycle travel.

Hardcore intelligent technology

In addition to the common configurations, the highlight of the SK400-KG lies in a powerful intelligent IoT technology system (come standard on domestic models and optional for overseas models) that integrates GPS, anti-theft, intelligent SOS and other functions.

It is equipped with the customized intelligent system of IoV (Internet of Vehicles) and Beidou GPS, and enables mobile phone synchronous display of vehicle data, intelligent rescue function, forced fuel cut-off, and warning against low power, power failure, speeding, collision and others.
