TAIPEI CYCLE 2024: A Beacon of Innovation and Sustainability in the Cycling World
The esteemed Taipei International Cycle Show (TAIPEI CYCLE), a hallmark event in the cycling industry, unfolded with grandeur from March 6th to 9th at Nangang Exhibition Halls 1 and 2. This year’s exhibition drew an impressive cohort of 950 exhibitors from across the globe, filling 3,500 booths, reflecting a substantial growth of nearly 15% compared to the previous year and a 5% increase from pre-pandemic figures, underscoring the dynamic expansion of the bicycle industry.
This year’s show was anchored around four pivotal themes: ‘Micro-Mobility,’ ‘Green Practices,’ ‘Innovation and Start-ups,’ and ‘Cycling Culture and Lifestyle.’ These themes provided a comprehensive showcase of the latest advancements and trends within the bicycle industry’s value chain, aligning with the global movement towards net-zero emissions and propelling the industry on a path to sustainable growth. Despite a challenging 2023 marred by inventory adjustments, the industry remains buoyant, anticipating a positive shift in the latter half of the year and projecting sustained growth.
The expo garnered pre-registrations from 3,000 international buyers hailing from over 70 countries, reinforcing Taiwan’s influential stature in the global bicycle market. The event featured an array of groundbreaking products and technologies from illustrious brands such as MERIDA, GIANT, KMC, SRAM, and SHIMANO.
Noteworthy products included:
– The 10th generation Giant TCR Advanced SL: A marvel of engineering with its unique carbon fiber weaving and ultra-precise cold cutting technologies, tipping the scales at just 690g.
– Liv Devote Advanced Pro: Tailored for gravel racing, this bike boasts a lightweight, multi-functional design ideal for endurance riding.
– MERIDA’s latest SILEX gravel bike: A standout in comfort, off-road proficiency, aesthetics, and integration.
– JAVA’s VOLATA 7170 road bike: A synthesis of lightweight and aerodynamic design to minimize wind resistance.
In addition, a plethora of companies, including Kinlin Group, Eurasia, Yongqi Bicycle, DAHON, Pacific, and the Austrian brand KTM, unveiled their unique new offerings.
